Toronto was the tour’s last Canadian stop—not its final show.
What happened at Swift’s final Toronto show?
The moment came at Rogers Centre during the sixth and final Toronto concert. After the audience’s standing ovation for “Champagne Problems,” Swift addressed the crowd, paused and wiped away tears. Filmfare reported that she said she was “having a bit of a moment” and that the audience’s response meant a great deal to her and the people who had worked on the tour: Filmfare’s account of the Toronto remarks.
TIME quoted Swift thanking the people onstage and in the audience: “My band, my crew, all of my fellow performers, we have put so much of our lives into this. And you’ve put so much of your lives into being with us tonight and to giving us that moment that we will never forget.” TIME’s report and quotation
Filmfare also reported her closing words to Toronto: “We’ve loved our time in Toronto, it’s been so amazing. I love you guys. Thanks so much for that.”
