Taylor Cole’s Southern filming location was Birmingham, Alabama. A 2025 feature about Hallmark’s Double Scoop reports that the movie was filmed in and around Birmingham, even though its story takes place in New York City and rural Wisconsin.
Why Birmingham stood out to Taylor Cole
Cole spent three weeks in the area while making Double Scoop, according to the feature published by Southern Living and republished by AOL on August 23, 2025. She praised Birmingham’s food, its people, the detail in its architecture, and the character of its different neighborhoods. She also said she explored local restaurants and hiked in area parks.
In the published interview, Cole described the city as a versatile filming backdrop: “You could shoot any place that you wanted it to be, right here in this beautiful town with all this good food. And all these lovely people. I also noticed how beautiful the buildings were. There’s so much detail in the architecture. It was really mind blowing.”
She also spoke about the distinct feel of Birmingham’s neighborhoods: “There are just so many different pockets of so many unique vibes and styles. And I thought that was really cool. I loved exploring the different spots and what each one had to offer.” These are statements attributed to Cole by the published feature.

Where Double Scoop is set—and where it was filmed
The movie’s fictional locations are not its production locations. The feature reports that Double Scoop is set in New York City and rural Wisconsin but was filmed in and around Birmingham. It also reports that many farm scenes were shot at Paramore Farm in Harpersville, Alabama.
The feature says Cole milked a cow, bottle-fed a calf, and held a baby goat while filming. Those behind-the-scenes details come from the interview account; the reviewed source does not provide an independent production record confirming the locations.

Planning a Birmingham visit
Cole’s account points to food, architecture, neighborhoods, and outdoor recreation as part of what she enjoyed about Birmingham. For practical trip planning, the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau provides a 2026 visitor travel guide and information about local parks and CityWalk BHAM. The bureau describes CityWalk as an Uptown recreation and events space with a two-mile walking trail, playground, dog park, courts, roller rink, and other facilities. Check official listings for current conditions and hours before visiting.
The 2025 feature names The Essential, Pogo Cocktail Bar, Miss Astrid’s Tavern, El Barrio, Current Charcoal Grill, and Bottega among places Cole visited or celebrated her birthday. That account does not establish their current operating status, hours, or suitability for every visitor; check directly before making plans. The bureau’s visitor guide can help with broader trip planning, but it does not identify sites featured in the film.
