How does Lizzie die?
During the shootout, gunfire near Lizzie’s ear leaves her hearing impaired. Aleah asks her to reach the bridge and call for backup because Kathleen has been shot. Lizzie goes to a vehicle to use its radio, but she cannot hear warnings as Jayson and Perry drive toward her. Their vehicle strikes and kills her; Grasso and Aleah witness the impact.
So Lizzie is not killed by a bullet: the fatal injury is caused by the collision as the gang escapes. The suddenness of the scene is sharpened by the fact that she is trying to get help for a colleague when it happens.

Does Robbie die?
Yes. Robbie confronts Jayson, the Dark Hearts leader responsible for his brother’s death, and Jayson stabs him. Tom reaches Robbie and tries to get him to a hospital, but Robbie dies on the way.
The confrontation ends Robbie’s pursuit of revenge, while Tom’s failed attempt to save him makes the death a personal loss as well as a turning point in the case.

What was in the bag Robbie threw in the river?
The bag Robbie throws into the river is a decoy. When Jayson and Perry retrieve it expecting drugs, they find real-estate pamphlets instead. The real cash has a different destination: Shelley brings it to Maeve.
That reveal shows Robbie had made a contingency plan for his family in case he did not survive his confrontation with Jayson. The money is not evidence that he escaped; it is his share set aside for Maeve if he failed to return.

What role does Grasso play in the escape?
Grasso has a concealed connection to the Dark Hearts. During the chaos, he signals Jayson and Perry to flee. Tom later confronts him over the leak and the circumstances that left the task force in danger.
Grasso appears visibly affected by Lizzie’s death, but his guilt does not undo his role in helping the gang members escape. That contradiction makes the betrayal more consequential: he is implicated both in the case’s failure and in a colleague’s death.
