The announced billing method used Grameenphone mobile balance. What Tapmad and Grameenphone announced
Tapmad and Grameenphone signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at making Tapmad subscriptions available to Grameenphone customers in Bangladesh. Tapmad’s announcement is dated October 12, 2025, while The Business Standard published launch coverage on October 7, 2025. The visible LinkedIn announcement confirms the MoU signing at Grameenphone’s Dhaka headquarters but does not establish a more precise signing date.
The MoU was signed by Yassir Pasha, Tapmad’s CEO, and Zahiduz Zaman, Grameenphone’s head of Digital Platform, Payment and Partnership. Tapmad presented the arrangement as part of its expansion beyond Pakistan.
Neither company disclosed subscriber targets, revenue-sharing terms, customer-acquisition costs or performance figures, so the announcement demonstrates market entry rather than measured commercial success.

Who could use the offer?
The announced carrier-billing offer targeted Grameenphone customers in Bangladesh. It did not establish universal access for every Bangladeshi mobile user, and it did not say that Grameenphone was Tapmad’s exclusive local operator partner.

How the announced subscription flow worked
- Open the MyGP app, the Tapmad app or the Tapmad website.
- Select an available weekly or monthly Tapmad package.
- Authorize payment using Grameenphone mobile balance.
- Open the service through the applicable Tapmad account or app and begin streaming.
Those were the reported access routes at launch, not a guaranteed description of the current interface. The available announcements do not specify current menu labels, whether every route requires a separate Tapmad account, cancellation steps, refund rules, device limits or simultaneous-stream allowances.

Mobile-balance billing can remove the need for a credit card or separate payment gateway in the supported flow. A customer still needs enough balance for activation and any later renewal, and the subscription charge is separate from the cost of mobile data.

The partnership was described as covering live sports alongside films, dramas and on-demand entertainment. Tapmad’s announcement cited the English Premier League, Asia Cup, MMA, PFL and international cricket tours, and referred to future international cricket coverage. Grameenphone’s coverage also highlighted HD streaming.
These are launch-era service and rights examples, not a guarantee that every listed competition, match, season or title remains available in Bangladesh. Rights can be territory-specific, event-specific and time-limited. “HD” is a stated capability rather than a guaranteed viewing result: playback depends on bandwidth, congestion, device capability, app version and the delivered bitrate.
