Did their Cobra Kai characters date?
Yes. Mouser plays Samantha LaRusso, and Buchanan plays Robby Keene. The characters grow closer and kiss in season two; their romance is part of the show’s fictional relationships among its young characters. Netflix Tudum’s cast guide identifies the actors and roles, while its relationship recap describes Sam and Robby’s storyline.
The actors’ real engagement and the characters’ fictional romance are separate matters. A scene between Sam and Robby is not evidence of when Buchanan and Mouser began dating off-screen.

What did Tanner Buchanan say about their on-screen kiss?
In a conversation quoted by Netflix Tudum from his 2020 interview with Interview, Buchanan said filming the characters’ first kiss scene felt strange because he and Mouser were good friends. He recalled, “My heart was pounding, I was shaking,” and said it felt unusual “to go to that place, because we’re such good friends.” Netflix Tudum’s recap provides the quote and scene context. His comment describes their friendship at that point; it does not confirm a private romantic timeline.
