Tahnee Sims Pays Tribute to Johnny Ruffo One Year After His Death

Tahnee Sims’s reported Instagram tribute remembered Johnny Ruffo one year after his death from brain cancer, aged 35.

Tahnee Sims marked one year since Johnny Ruffo’s death with an Instagram tribute on 10 November 2024, according to PerthNow. Her reported words recalled their years together, the grief of his absence and the love they shared.

What Tahnee Sims said in her tribute

PerthNow reported that Sims posted the tribute on Instagram on the first anniversary of Ruffo’s death. The outlet quoted her as writing: “One year on without you… It feels like just yesterday & a lifetime ago all at once.”

In another passage reproduced by PerthNow, Sims wrote: “Grief is incredibly heavy but it’s the price we pay for love & I’m so grateful for all of the years we got to share together & the lifetime of love & adventure we packed in.”

The report also quoted her closing: “Forever wouldn’t have been long enough with you… Miss you J.” These excerpts are attributed to Sims’s Instagram caption as reported by PerthNow on 10 November 2024; the original post was not independently inspected.

When Johnny Ruffo died

Ruffo died from brain cancer on 10 November 2023, aged 35, ABC News reported. Sims’s post, reported the following year on the same date, marked the first anniversary of his death.

Who Johnny Ruffo was

Ruffo was known as a contestant on The X Factor and for acting in Home and Away. ABC News reported that he was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 and that the cancer returned in 2020. He released No Finish Line in 2022, a book documenting his experience after learning about his brain tumour.
