Us Weekly reported that Jones died at 46 and that a post on her Instagram account announced her death on December 2, 2025. The post identified her as Donyelle Denise Wilson, also known as Donyelle Jones.
The statement, reproduced by Us Weekly, read: “Today at 8:34am, Donyelle Denise Wilson, transitioned. A wife. A daughter. A sister. A friend. And a warrior who kicked cancer’s ass every single day she was here. Her spirit never dimmed. Her heart never hardened. And even in the storm, she never lost her smile. GIWMA.”
Us Weekly described her death as following a breast cancer battle. Parade noted that the family post referenced cancer, but said no cause of death had been officially and publicly confirmed. The available reporting therefore connects her story to cancer without establishing a medically certified cause of death.

What was reported about her cancer diagnosis?
Us Weekly reported that Jones was diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer, which later became Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. That history is attributed here to the outlet’s reporting; the family announcement did not state an official cause of death.
About a week before the death announcement, a video shared by Jones reportedly said that she was in hospice and had begun putting her affairs in order. In the video, she said: “Hi everyone, Donyelle Denise here. It has come to the point where I have started to get my affairs in order. Most of you guys know, at this point, I am in hospice and I have done everything possible to extend my time here in this dimension. At this point I have surrendered to whatever God’s will is.”
