The hunt has ended: its official website now displays a “Hunt Over” notice. The rules set an end date no later than February 25, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
What was the Survivor 50 Challenge?
CBS promoted the challenge alongside the show’s milestone 50th season. Its announcement described 50 immunity idols hidden across the 50 states. The official rules describe the mechanics more precisely: 50 separate physical challenges at specified U.S. locations, plus one virtual challenge. These were promotional activities, separate from the show’s in-game competition.
Reality TV World’s December 18, 2025, report quoted host and executive producer Jeff Probst saying, “For the first time ever, we are taking Survivor across America.”
Where were the idols hidden, and how did the hunt work?
The announcement described one hidden idol in each state. Under the official rules, clues on the campaign website were intended to lead participants to the idol for each physical challenge. An eligible participant who found an idol and registered the discovery during that challenge’s participation period would be entered into a random drawing for that challenge’s prize. The virtual challenge ran during the overall challenge period.

Announcement coverage also described signing up for alerts and submitting a photo with a found idol through the Survivor 50 Digital Hub. It mentioned an additional winner selected through an online component. Those were announcement-era details; the official rules govern the promotion.
Who could participate?
The rules said the promotion was intended for residents of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Participants had to be at least 18 and the age of majority where they lived; the rules set that age at 19 in Alabama and Nebraska. No purchase or payment was necessary to participate or win. The rules also included arbitration and a class-action waiver, so the complete terms matter when describing eligibility and participation.

Is the Survivor 50 idol hunt still going?
No. The official rules scheduled the challenge to begin January 30, 2026, and end at the conclusion of the final participation period, with an outside deadline of February 25, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. The campaign site’s “Hunt Over” page confirms the promotion has ended.

The available announcement and rules do not establish the final winners or final prize outcomes. Reality TV World’s announcement coverage said the grand prize had not yet been announced at the time. That is not confirmation of what the final prize was, or whether any particular person won.
