Season 47 began with 18 castaways in Fiji, according to CBS’s episode guide. That is the starting cast count; it does not establish how many players remained before Episode 7.

Episode 6, “Feel the FOMO,” aired October 23, 2024. CBS described the castaways dropping their buffs and coming together on the same beach, marking the shift out of the separate-tribe phase. What CBS previewed for Episode 7
“Our Pickle on Blast” aired October 30, 2024, one week after Episode 6. CBS’s episode guide preview described two castaways trying to mend fences after a wild Tribal Council, an immunity challenge in which one group would receive reward and safety, and a secret advantage that would cause a major game change.

The important contrast is between Episode 6’s individual-immunity opportunity and Episode 7’s previewed group protection. The advantage also had a different stated role: Episode 6’s could give a challenge lead, while Episode 7’s was described as game-changing. CBS’s synopsis does not explain the advantage’s exact mechanics or identify the protected group.
