Netflix’s U.S. license for the series ended on December 17, 2025, but the complete 15-season run moved to Prime Video and Peacock. That is a streaming-availability update—not a revival announcement.
What happened to Supernatural on Netflix?
Supernatural left Netflix in the United States on December 17, 2025, after the show’s licensing availability ended. Netflix did not cancel the series: the show had already completed its run in 2020, and this was a change in where viewers could stream it.
The change felt particularly abrupt because Netflix had been a long-standing home for all 15 seasons. For viewers who had relied on Netflix for a complete rewatch, however, the series was not left without a subscription destination.
Prime Video and Peacock became the replacement homes
Contemporary reports identified Prime Video and Peacock as the next U.S. streaming homes for the full series. TVLine reported that Supernatural would leave Netflix on December 17, with Prime Video scheduled to receive all 15 seasons on December 1 and Peacock scheduled to receive them on December 22. TV Insider also reported the December 17 Netflix departure and the move to both services, but listed December 22 as the Prime Video arrival date.

- What You Get: HDMI Cable (6 ft, 8K), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Because those reports disagree about Prime Video’s precise launch date, it is safer not to treat December 1 or December 22 as an uncontested release date. The stable point is that both services became destinations for the complete 15-season series after the Netflix exit.
Prime Video’s current U.S. title page lists seasons 1 through 15 and identifies Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles among the cast. Peacock’s current episode pages also show the fifteenth season and state that all 15 seasons are available.
Where to watch Supernatural in the U.S.
- Prime Video: The current title page lists all 15 seasons. Depending on the listing and the viewer’s account, access may be available through a subscription or through digital purchase.
- Peacock: Peacock’s current pages list the complete 15-season run, including season 15.
- Digital purchase: Amazon Video and other retail platforms may offer individual seasons or the series for purchase. Prices and purchase terms can change.
- Physical ownership: A complete Blu-ray collection contains all 327 episodes across 15 seasons and does not depend on a future streaming license.
Availability is territory- and date-sensitive. This U.S. snapshot reflects platform and listing information checked in late July 2026; viewers outside the United States may see different results.
Why the complete Blu-ray set may be the safest long-term option
Streaming is the most convenient way to start or revisit the show, but licensing changes are exactly why some fans prefer to own a physical copy. A service can add, remove, or relocate a series without the viewer having control over the timetable. A complete disc set provides a more durable option for someone who wants the entire story available regardless of which platform currently holds the U.S. streaming rights.

Published retail coverage describes Supernatural: The Complete Series on Blu-ray as a repackaged collection containing all 327 episodes from the 15-season run. The set is designed as a complete-series release rather than a new season or continuation. Packaging, seller, inventory, and price can vary, so check the current listing carefully before buying.
Supernatural: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is therefore the most direct ownership alternative for viewers who do not want to depend entirely on changing streaming catalogs. It is also worth confirming the format, region compatibility, included discs, and seller details before checkout.
What the series is—and how much there is to watch
Supernatural is a U.S. drama, fantasy, and horror series that ran from 2005 to 2020. It follows brothers Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, as they investigate paranormal cases and confront monsters, demons, angels, and other supernatural threats.
The show concluded with its fifteenth season and comprises 327 episodes. That unusually large completed library is the main reason the Netflix departure mattered: fans were not losing access to a short catalog, but to a long-running series built for extended viewing and repeat rewatches.

Prime Video access versus buying the series digitally
Prime Video’s current page supports both the show’s presence on the platform and its 15-season structure. However, the precise access method can depend on the current listing, subscription eligibility, location, and whether a viewer is renting, buying, or accessing the title through a service subscription.
Watch Supernatural on Prime Video if the priority is immediate streaming rather than collecting discs. Check the current page for the account-specific subscription or purchase options, since prices and eligibility are volatile and should not be treated as permanent.
Digital ownership can be a useful middle ground: it avoids handling discs while reducing dependence on a single subscription catalog. It still remains subject to the retailer’s platform policies and account access, so it is not identical to owning a physical release.
Is this a Supernatural revival?
No confirmed revival, reboot, renewal, or new season was established by this streaming move.
The confusion comes partly from comments by former showrunner Andrew Dabb, who discussed the possibility of the series returning in some form and said he hoped it could come back. He also explained that the current streaming market and buyer preferences could make a genre-procedural revival difficult. Those comments express hope about a hypothetical future; they do not confirm active development, casting, production, or a network or streaming order.

The most accurate way to describe the news is simple: Supernatural found replacement U.S. streaming homes after leaving Netflix, but Sam and Dean are not confirmed to be returning for a new season.

- Choose a subscription service for convenience. Compare the current Prime Video and Peacock options available to your U.S. account.
- Check the exact season listing. Confirm that seasons 1 through 15 appear before beginning a full-series rewatch.
- Buy digitally if you prefer account-based access. Review the current price and purchase terms rather than relying on an old listing.
- Choose Blu-ray for the most durable library. Verify the set’s packaging, seller, format, and region details before purchasing.
- Ignore revival headlines unless they cite a formal announcement. A rights move or a creator’s comments are not the same as a renewal order.
The bottom line on the Netflix exit
The Netflix departure was disruptive because the service had been a familiar home for the entire series. But the outcome was less severe than a total disappearance: Prime Video and Peacock became U.S. destinations for all 15 seasons, while digital purchase and complete-series Blu-ray options provide additional ways to watch.
