What “Ocasio 64” means
- Ocasio is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio’s maternal family name, shared with his mother’s side of the family. NFL coverage and a San Francisco Chronicle account connect the name to his uncle.
- 64 refers to Cutito Ocasio’s birth year, 1964. The 49ers’ account says Cutito introduced Bad Bunny to the NFL and the team.
Bad Bunny explained the choice as a tribute: “So during my Super Bowl halftime show, I decided to have him on my shirt: OCASIO, his last name, the same as my mother’s, and his birth year, 64.” His uncle was his mother’s brother. The NFL also reported that Cutito had to leave Puerto Rico at 17.
Where and when he wore it
The jersey appeared during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8, 2026. NFL coverage identified it as a white Zara shirt. The Associated Press described the all-white football look as part of a performance shaped by Puerto Rican imagery and identity.
How the jersey fit the performance
The number’s documented meaning is personal: it commemorates Cutito. In the wider staging, the shirt also sat within a Puerto Rico-centered presentation. AP’s account points to sugar-cane staging and clothing inspired by the jíbaro, a traditional rural Puerto Rican figure. That context helps explain why the jersey drew attention, but it does not change what the number refers to.

Online speculation has attached other meanings to 64. The NFL, 49ers and Chronicle accounts support the family tribute; unrelated theories about Puerto Rico statistics or other historical references are not established by those accounts.
What about the shoes?
Adidas announced a separate footwear tie-in, the white Bad Bunny BadBo 1.0. Adidas listed the shoes at $160 and announced a February 9, 2026 release through adidas.com/badbunny, the CONFIRMED app and selected retailers. That announcement concerns the sneakers, not the “Ocasio 64” jersey. The available reporting does not establish that the jersey itself was an official retail product.
