Styled in May was preparing to open a designer dress-hire business in Nedlands in August 2024, with a stated focus on making a wider range of sizes available. Its founders, sisters Alexis Melville and Tegan Quinlivan, described the venture in a July 18, 2024 report by PerthNow. That launch-time report does not confirm whether the business opened or is operating now, so its prices, stock and booking details should be treated as historical rather than current.
What Styled in May set out to offer
Co-founders Alexis Melville and Tegan Quinlivan said they were developing a designer dress-hire service in Nedlands with more size options than they felt were commonly available in Perth. Melville said the sisters had noticed that many local hire businesses tended to stock smaller sizes, usually no bigger than size 10. That was the founders’ observation, not the result of an independent survey of Perth providers.
Melville described the aim as creating “a space where there’s just so many different options for everyone.” The July 2024 report presented the business as preparing to launch the following month; it does not establish its current operating status or confirm that opening took place.
Sizes and labels mentioned at launch
The founders’ account suggests that building a broad size range was a sourcing challenge as well as a point of difference. Quinlivan said, “a lot of the brands don’t really go past a size 16,” making it difficult to source larger sizes. The report did not publish a complete size chart or establish the sizes available in each garment.

Quinlivan named CAMILLA, Camilla & Marc, SIR and Christopher Esber among the labels in the selection they described in 2024. What the 2024 report said about hire prices

This is the price described in the July 18, 2024 launch-time coverage, not a current quote or a verified price list.
