Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise presenter James Tobin announced in October 2023 that he had proposed to his partner, Farrah, and she had said yes. At the time, Farrah was in Perth completing a fellowship in interventional cardiology while the couple were managing a long-distance relationship. They married in October 2024.

In an Instagram post reported by 7NEWS on 30 October 2023, Tobin shared that he had asked Farrah to marry him and she had accepted. “I’m thrilled to tell you I asked Farrah to marry me and she said ‘yes’,” he wrote, according to the outlet’s report. 7NEWS reported the announcement the following day after Tobin posted it.
Tobin also acknowledged that although much of his life was visible on television, he had chosen to keep some things private. He described Farrah as “brilliant and beautiful, funny and clever,” adding that she had “a kind heart” and saved lives while running ultramarathons in her spare time. 7NEWS reproduced his remarks.
Who is Farrah?
The contemporaneous reports identify Farrah as Tobin’s long-term partner and say she was completing a fellowship in interventional cardiology in Perth. Tobin said the couple had spent time apart while she was there and was coming back to their home in Sydney. 7NEWS and PerthNow reported those details in October 2023. The cited coverage does not give Farrah’s surname or a fuller biography.

From engagement to marriage
The engagement was a 2023 announcement, not a current event. On 29 October 2024, 7NEWS reported that Tobin and Farrah had married at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory in the NSW Riverina. The wedding report described the ceremony as following their engagement the previous year.
Later updates charted another family milestone: 7NEWS reported in July 2025 that the couple were expecting their first child, and WHO reported on 1 December 2025 that they had announced the birth of their daughter, Tilda Tobin. 7NEWS’s pregnancy report and WHO’s birth report place those updates after the wedding.
