Studio Pierrot—the Japanese animation company associated with Bleach—and South Korea’s Red Dog Culture House announced Latna Saga: The Survival Sword King as the first project in a multi-title partnership. The companies said they plan to produce animation for global distribution, but their announcements do not give this series a release date, streaming service, cast, or adaptation staff. It is an announced project, not a confirmed “next hit.”
What did Studio Pierrot announce?
In a notice dated November 5, 2024, Studio Pierrot named Latna Saga: The Survival Sword King as its first anime adaptation project with Red Dog Culture House. Pierrot described it as an adaptation of a popular Red Dog webtoon and said full-scale production was scheduled to begin before the end of 2024. That was a planned start, not confirmation of a premiere or current production status.

Red Dog’s October 30, 2024 announcement described a co-production and investment agreement lasting three years. The companies said they planned at least two animation titles, to be organized through Japanese production committees and distributed to the global market. Their notices do not name a distributor or specify which countries global distribution would cover.
What is Latna Saga: The Survival Sword King about?
The story follows Hanbin Ryu, who is transported to another world after completing military service. A malfunction in the survival-and-growth guide system leaves him stuck in its tutorial stage for more than 20 years. When he finally emerges, otherworlders are treated with hostility, and Hanbin must survive with little experience of the world beyond the tutorial. Tapas sums up the predicament with the question: “Just how will this low-level, super-tutorial newbie survive?”

The English-language comic is available on Tapas, which lists it as an action-fantasy work by YKB, SOON-Q, and STUDIO KHIT. Pierrot and Red Dog credit the original story to Lim Kyung-bae and the webtoon writing to Kwon Soon-kyu, with Studio K-hit. Red Dog’s English announcement gives the creator credit as original story by Lim Kyung-bae, written and illustrated by Kwon Soon-kyu, Studio Khit.
How large and current is the source webtoon?
Tapas displayed 282 episodes when its series listing was reviewed on October 8, 2026. The listing’s live counters showed 8.1 million views and 635.7 thousand likes on that date. These are Tapas platform counters, not audited sales figures or evidence of how the anime will perform.
A Tapas notice dated September 14, 2026 said Season 6 had ended and the comic would take a hiatus before returning with Season 7. That update concerns the webtoon’s serialization, not the anime adaptation.
Is the anime coming out, and where can fans watch it?
The reviewed company announcements do not provide a release date, streaming platform, territory list, trailer, episode count, or cast and production staff for the adaptation. “Global distribution” is the partners’ stated plan; it does not identify a service or confirm availability in any particular country. Until a distributor or platform is named, there is no confirmed viewing option to recommend.
The announcement also does not establish that an English-language print edition of the comic is currently available. A Red Dog creator interview published January 28, 2021 described a book form as being in progress at that time, but that historical comment does not verify publication or current availability.

The agreement gives the companies a framework for developing multiple animation titles, beginning with Latna Saga. Red Dog CEO Kiyong Bae said the collaboration was an opportunity to showcase the company’s capabilities to a global market. Pierrot CEO Kazumichi Ueda said the companies would devote their capabilities to the adaptation and expressed the aim of exceeding original fans’ expectations. These are the executives’ stated intentions, not independent assessments of quality or audience response.
Rank #4
For now, the most concrete takeaway is the pairing of Studio Pierrot with Red Dog Culture House on an adaptation of Red Dog’s Studio Khit webtoon. Further details—especially release timing, viewing service, territory, and adaptation credits—remain unannounced in the notices cited here.
