If YouTube shows your StreamVoodoo broadcast as offline, check each handoff in order: the source and StreamVoodoo room, the feed’s Magic Link, the broadcasting software, the selected YouTube Live event, and finally viewer playback. “Offline” does not identify one cause by itself. YouTube’s offline-download feature is separate; this guide is about a live event that is not appearing as live.
Find out where the stream stops
Start with the screen that says offline and compare what each part of the setup can see. StreamVoodoo describes a workflow in which people join a browser-based room and individual feeds can be shared through Magic Links or used as browser sources in software such as OBS or vMix. That creates several separate points to check; it does not mean StreamVoodoo controls the live status shown by YouTube.
- StreamVoodoo room: Is the intended participant or camera feed visible in the room?
- Magic Link or browser source: Does the link for that feed produce video where you are using it?
- Broadcasting software: Does OBS, vMix, or your other software show the expected input and indicate that it is sending a broadcast?
- YouTube Live event: Does the intended event recognize an incoming signal, or does it still indicate that no signal is being received?
- Viewer playback: Can you see the live event, while one or more viewers cannot play it?
These observations distinguish a missing source from a failed handoff or a playback problem. They are diagnostic checks based on the documented workflow, not confirmed StreamVoodoo-specific cures.
Check the StreamVoodoo room and feed
- Open the room and confirm the source. Make sure the intended participant or camera feed appears. If it is missing, check that the person has joined the correct room and that the browser has permission to use the camera and microphone.
- Check the selected devices. If the room is open but the feed is absent or using the wrong equipment, verify the selected camera and audio devices and their browser permissions.
- Use the Magic Link for the intended feed. If you send an individual feed to OBS, vMix, or another destination, make sure the browser source uses that feed’s link rather than a different participant’s link.
- Confirm the link produces an image. If the room looks correct but the receiving software has no picture, isolate the Magic Link or browser-source handoff before changing YouTube settings.

Check the software-to-YouTube handoff
If the room and feed output are visible, move downstream. In the broadcasting software, confirm that the expected source is present and that the software is sending to the YouTube Live event you intend to use. Check that the selected connection or stream key and event match your current setup. A wrong destination or mismatched key is a sensible workflow check, but the available StreamVoodoo guidance does not establish it as the cause of this particular symptom.
- If the software itself has no picture, return to the feed and Magic Link checks.
- If the software has a picture but YouTube reports no incoming signal, focus on the software’s output and its event connection.
- If YouTube recognizes the signal but the event is not available to viewers, check the event’s state and whether the problem affects everyone or only particular viewers.
Separate a live-ingest issue from viewer playback
A creator seeing no incoming signal in YouTube Live is dealing with a different problem from a viewer who cannot play an event that the creator can see as live. For a playback-only issue, YouTube recommends checking the internet connection and data use, restarting the connection or app or device, updating the app or browser, and testing without browser extensions that could interfere. YouTube’s approximate sustained connection speeds on that page are viewing guidance, not live-stream upload or encoder requirements:

Do not use those playback figures to choose an encoder upload bitrate. StreamVoodoo separately says its room defaults to 720p, suggests 3 or 4 Mbps as standard and 6 Mbps or higher when broadcasting, and says Ethernet is required for its highest video qualities. Those are StreamVoodoo’s stated feed settings and connection guidance, not universal YouTube ingest requirements or a promise that wired networking will fix an offline status. This evidence helps locate the failing handoff. The available official guidance does not identify one confirmed StreamVoodoo-specific cause or a single guaranteed fix for this symptom.

Does YouTube’s offline-download feature mean my live stream is offline?
No. Offline downloads are a separate YouTube feature for watching certain videos in the mobile app without a connection; this guide concerns a live broadcast.
Does a wired Ethernet connection guarantee that YouTube will show the stream as live?
