The Streamlabs App Store is a library of third-party streaming apps inside Streamlabs Desktop—not Apple’s App Store. For YouTube creators, the useful way to choose is by the job you need done: improve a scene, give chat something to do, react to stream events, or track a goal. Individual listings and YouTube compatibility can change, so check them in Desktop before installing.
What is the Streamlabs App Store?
Streamlabs describes the App Store as a built-in collection of third-party apps for adding control, automation, analytics, audience interaction, and visual elements to a stream. Streamlabs says it reviews apps before they appear in the store. Its product page describes the library as: “Add music, interactive experiences, custom visuals, automation, analytics, and more—all inside Streamlabs Desktop.” See Streamlabs’ App Store overview.
The store is pinned in Streamlabs Desktop navigation. From there, you can browse apps, manage installed ones, and add app sources to scenes. Streamlabs says cloud storage can make apps available when you stream from a new PC; check the individual app’s listing for any app-specific setup or account requirements.
Choose apps by the job you need done
Streamlabs’ official overview groups apps by function rather than publishing a stable, ranked list of winners. Start with a concrete need, then inspect the live listing for YouTube compatibility, cost, setup instructions, scene integration, and developer support.

Make scenes and on-screen elements more distinctive
Look for customization and visual-styling tools when your priority is changing what viewers see. Before installing, check whether the app adds a source to a scene and whether its instructions match your version of Streamlabs Desktop.
Give viewers something to do
Apps in the interaction category include chat games, polls, and trivia. Choose one that suits your audience and stream format; verify that the listing explains how viewers participate and whether it works with your YouTube workflow.

React to follows, tips, subscriptions, and other events
Some apps trigger effects in response to stream events. Check which events the app recognizes and which platforms it supports rather than assuming that every trigger works on YouTube.
Support goals, challenges, and longer streams
Timer apps can support streamathons and challenges. If you use a timer to communicate a goal, confirm that its display and controls behave as expected in your scene before relying on it live.

Track performance or add other stream utilities
Growth and analytics tools are intended to help creators understand performance. The broader catalog also includes types such as game stats, sound alerts, and stream-safe music. Review the listing’s data, compatibility, and licensing details; the category name alone does not establish what a particular app provides.
How to decide between apps for the same task
When multiple listings seem to solve the same problem, compare them on the points that affect your actual YouTube setup:

- Need: Does the app solve the specific problem you have, or add complexity you do not need?
- YouTube compatibility: Does the current listing explicitly support the YouTube workflow you intend to use?
- Access and cost: Is it free, or does it require Streamlabs Ultra?
- Setup: Are its installation and scene-source instructions clear for your Desktop version?
- Maintenance and support: Is there current developer guidance and a way to get help?
- Existing features: Would a Streamlabs widget already do the job?
There is not enough stable, app-by-app information to declare individual apps the best for every YouTube creator. Catalog entries and capabilities may change; make the final comparison in the current Desktop listing.

Availability differs: Streamlabs says most widgets can be used in Streamlabs Desktop and the Streamlabs OBS plugin, while App Store apps are currently exclusive to Streamlabs Desktop. So if you use the OBS plugin rather than Desktop, do not assume an App Store app will be available there. Streamlabs’ App Store guidance explains the distinction.
How to install an app in Streamlabs Desktop
- Download and open Streamlabs Desktop. The App Store apps described here are currently available through Desktop.
- Open App Store from Desktop navigation. Browse for the task you want to address.
- Open the app’s listing before installing. Check YouTube compatibility, eligibility or cost, setup directions, and developer support.
- Choose the app and install it. Follow its own instructions; setup is not necessarily identical across apps.
- Manage the installed app and add it to a scene as a source, if appropriate. Confirm its behavior in your scene before using it on a live broadcast.
Are Streamlabs App Store apps free?
Some are free; Streamlabs names Sponsorships and Sidekick as examples. Streamlabs says most apps are available exclusively to Ultra subscribers, and its support guidance says every App Store app is included with an Ultra subscription.
