Where the final season picked up
Netflix’s official synopsis placed the final season in fall 1987. Hawkins was scarred by the opening of the Rifts, under military quarantine, and the site of an intensified government hunt for Eleven. The group set out to find and kill Vecna, whose whereabouts and plans were unknown; the synopsis said the final battle would require the full party. Netflix identified the season as the fifth and final one, created by the Duffer Brothers.
