Netflix’s July 2025 “Code Red” teaser framed Stranger Things Season 5 as a final fight for Hawkins: the town is scarred by the Rifts, military forces have taken control, Vecna is missing, and Eleven is in hiding. The season was released in three parts on November 26, December 25, and December 31, 2025; those dates have passed.
What is in the Stranger Things 5 teaser?
Netflix Tudum published its “Code Red” teaser article on July 16, 2025. It described the story as beginning in fall 1987, with the Rifts having scarred Hawkins, military personnel occupying the town, and Demogorgons present. The group is preparing to face Vecna. These are Netflix’s synopsis and promotional framing, not a scene-by-scene account of everything shown in the teaser. Read Netflix Tudum’s July 16 teaser article.
What is Season 5’s setup?
Netflix’s official synopsis supplies the broader situation: Vecna has vanished, the government has placed Hawkins under military quarantine, and Eleven is being hunted and has gone into hiding. The anniversary of Will’s disappearance is approaching, and the final conflict calls for the full group to stand together. Netflix Media Center’s Season 5 page provides the official synopsis and production credits.
What mythology does the teaser point toward?
The teaser article connects the final season to questions about the Upside Down. Series co-creator Ross Duffer said of the mythology document he and Matt Duffer wrote for Netflix: “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5.” Netflix describes that document as 25 pages. The comment signals that some mythology questions were being held for the final season; it does not identify every reveal or explain how the season resolves them.
