Steve Austin said he was embarrassed after driving his ATV into a ringside barricade during his WrestleMania 41 Night 2 appearance in Las Vegas. In an April 30, 2025 interview with Ariel Helwani, Austin blamed the mishap on a throttle setup different from the one he normally used. That is Austin’s explanation, not an independently confirmed mechanical finding.
What happened during Austin’s WrestleMania 41 entrance?
Austin rode an ATV down the entrance ramp and circled the ring during the Sunday, April 20, 2025 program. While making his entrance, he drove into the barricade separating the ringside area from the fans. WWE’s official WrestleMania 41 Sunday highlights lists Austin’s appearance as part of the event.
CBS Sports reported that Austin tried to console fans closest to the crash and that WWE president Nick Khan also spoke with fans at ringside. Austin later said he thought everyone was okay; the available reports do not establish a separate medical outcome.
Why did Steve Austin say he crashed?
In his April 30, 2025 interview with Ariel Helwani, Austin attributed the problem to a throttle setup unlike the one he was accustomed to using. As transcribed by CBS Sports, he said: “Just a different throttle set up than what I’m normally used to. Long story short, just a different throttle system cause I’m pretty damn handy on a four wheeler.”

What did Austin say about being embarrassed?
Austin described his reaction and his expectations for the appearance this way: “Pretty embarrassed about it. I think everybody’s OK, but I mean, you go out there on the biggest night in wrestling and you end up like that. It’s not the greatest night at the office. You want to go out there and give people the best show that you can, and when you fall short of that, it’s not great.”
