Stevie Wonder is reported to have nine children: Aisha, Keita, Mumtaz, Sophia, Kwame, Kailand, Mandla, Zaiah and Nyah. Public accounts connect most of them to their mothers, but reports differ about Sophia and Kwame, so their maternal parentage should not be treated as settled.
Who are Stevie Wonder’s nine children?
Biography.com and CNN Editorial Research list the same nine children. The table gives the commonly reported family connections; it does not imply that every detail has been confirmed by Wonder or his family.

Biography.com and CNN’s April 30, 2025 fast-facts page say the mothers of Sophia and Kwame were not publicly named or available. Smooth Radio instead attributes both to Melody McCulley. Because those accounts conflict, the most careful description is to identify Sophia and Kwame as Wonder’s children without assigning them a mother as settled fact. CNN spells the youngest child’s name “Nia”; Biography.com and Smooth use “Nyah.”
What is publicly reported about each child?
Aisha and Keita
Aisha and Keita are reported as Wonder’s children with Yolanda Simmons. Biography.com places Aisha’s birth in 1975 and Keita’s in 1977. Smooth Radio and Woman’s World give more specific dates—April 7, 1975, for Aisha and April 17, 1977, for Keita—but those are secondary-source reports.

Aisha is also closely associated with Wonder’s song “Isn’t She Lovely.” Biography.com says the song was inspired by her. Smooth Radio reproduces Wonder’s account to O Magazine that the sound of Aisha splashing in a bathtub helped shape the song.
Mumtaz
Biography.com reports that Wonder had a son with Melody McCulley in 1983; Smooth Radio and Woman’s World identify him as Mumtaz. Smooth and Woman’s World report his birthday as October 13, 1983.

Sophia and Kwame
These two names appear in the nine-child lists, but published accounts do not agree on their mother. Biography.com groups them among Wonder’s children with a woman whose name was not publicized; CNN says their mothers’ names were unavailable publicly. Smooth Radio names McCulley for both. The disagreement is a reason to avoid repeating a definitive maternal attribution.
Kailand and Mandla
Biography.com and CNN associate Kailand and Mandla with Kai Millard Morris, also known as Karen “Kai” Millard Morris. Smooth Radio describes Kai as a stylist and fashion designer, and reports Kailand’s birth date as September 1, 2001, and Mandla’s as May 13, 2005.
Zaiah and Nyah
Biography.com says Wonder and Tomeeka Robyn Bracy had two children before marrying in 2017. The sources reviewed identify them as Zaiah and Nyah, although CNN uses the spelling “Nia” for the latter. Smooth Radio reports that Nyah was born in 2014; it does not give a known birthday for Zaiah.

Woman’s World gives the reported birth-year span as 1975 to 2014. Exact birth dates are not consistently reported across sources, and some published ages are tied to the date an article appeared. For that reason, a birth-year range is more reliable here than a set of current ages.
