Stevie Nicks’s hospitalization was part of a July 2024 episode, not a new 2026 health announcement. After postponing performances in Glasgow and Manchester, she told the Glasgow audience that she had developed a severe infection and spent two days in hospital. The available reporting does not establish that surgery caused the infection or that it was a surgical complication.
What Stevie Nicks said about her hospitalization
At her Glasgow performance on July 24, 2024, Nicks told the audience she had developed an infection, sought emergency care and spent two days in hospital. The Los Angeles Times reported her remarks, including: “I don’t know what happened. I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy.”

Nicks also described the moment she decided to seek help: “I finally just looked at my assistant — it was like 2 in the morning — and I said, ‘I think we need to go to emergency.’” These were remarks to the concert crowd as reported by the newspaper, not a formal medical statement. No diagnosis, treatment details or prognosis were reported.
Why the Glasgow and Manchester shows were postponed
The two affected U.K. dates were Glasgow and Manchester. The Glasgow show was originally scheduled for July 6, 2024. The venue initially attributed its postponement to a leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure; Nicks later spoke about an infection and her hospital stay. Those accounts describe different information at different points, and the reporting does not explain how, or whether, they were related.

- Newly remastered version of Stevie Nick's Debut solo album, Bella Donna. Nicks joined producer Jimmy Iovine to begin recording songs for her solo debut, following the recording of Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk and subsequent tour. The 1981 album was quickly certified platinum thanks to Nicks classics like “Edge Of Seventeen,” “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” (with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and “Leather And Lace” (with Don Henley).
The Manchester performance was rescheduled and took place on July 16, 2024. Nicks performed in Glasgow on July 24, when she addressed the earlier emergency. The Los Angeles Times published its account of her remarks on July 26.
Was the infection a complication of surgery?
The available reporting does not establish that the procedure caused the infection, that the infection followed the procedure, or that it was a surgical complication. It also does not identify what the procedure involved. The venue’s initial explanation and Nicks’s later account should not be combined into a claim of cause and effect.

How the 2025 shoulder postponements differ
A separate tour update in 2025 concerned a fractured shoulder, not the infection Nicks described in Glasgow. A TD Garden event page reproducing the tour notice said August and September 2025 dates would be rescheduled and October dates were unaffected. That notice does not connect the shoulder injury to the 2024 hospitalization.
