Spoilers for the main story finale and post-credits scene. Jaylen’s betrayal turns Kay Vess’s planned heist into a rescue mission: she frees ND-5 aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Revelator, escapes with him and Asara carrying the Empire-related codex, and leaves Sliro dead and Jaylen killed. Syndicate reputation changes who helps in the final battle, but not the core resolution. After the credits, Kay helps her mother, Riko, escape Imperial custody.
What happens at the end of Star Wars Outlaws?
The vault heist’s prize is a codex containing information about the Empire, not simply a stash of cash. The information matters to Asara and the Rebel cause, giving the crew’s operation stakes beyond its promised payday.

Jaylen reveals that he is Sliro’s brother. He has used Kay and controlled ND-5 with a restraining bolt as part of a plan driven by revenge against Sliro and a desire to take control of Zerek Besh. When Jaylen’s betrayal puts ND-5 in danger aboard the Revelator, Kay goes after him instead of treating him as expendable.
Kay removes ND-5’s restraining bolt. Freed from that control, he protects Kay and turns against Jaylen. The confrontation ends with Sliro dead and Jaylen killed. Kay, ND-5, and Asara escape the ship with the codex as Rebel and syndicate forces take part in the attack on the Revelator.

Is Jaylen Sliro’s brother?
Yes. Jaylen reveals that he and Sliro are brothers. His scheme is personal as well as political: he seeks revenge for Sliro’s betrayal of their family while also pursuing power within Zerek Besh. His manipulation of Kay and control of ND-5 are part of that bid.
Does ND-5 die?
No. Kay frees ND-5 by removing the restraining bolt, and he chooses to protect her and oppose Jaylen. That choice resolves the central conflict between them: their partnership continues without Jaylen’s coercive control over ND-5.

Does Star Wars Outlaws have multiple endings?
There are not two competing canonical endings. The central plot outcome—the betrayal, Kay’s rescue of ND-5, and the escape with the codex—remains in place. What varies is the support Kay receives in the final battle: her syndicate reputation affects which faction helps.
Narrative director Navid Khavari explained that the finale needed “certain key beats” so Kay’s story would fit the wider Star Wars galaxy. The game therefore allows variation in the battle’s factional assistance without making the core resolution an alternate ending. Game Informer’s interview with Khavari discusses that continuity rationale.

What happens in the post-credits scene?
The crew goes its separate ways after the escape, while Kay and ND-5 continue together. In the post-credits scene, Kay disguises herself as an Imperial and helps her mother, Riko, escape Imperial custody. It offers a hopeful next step for their family story; it does not establish that the hurt between them has been fully resolved.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, placing Kay’s crime story within the original-trilogy era rather than presenting it as an alternate outcome to those films. StarWars.com’s game page describes the setting, and Ubisoft’s official page presents the game as an open-world story about Kay Vess navigating the galaxy’s underworld.
