Figures were checked on October 8, 2026, and may change if totals are revised or films return to theaters.

The Force Awakens is the clear leader
At $2,056,046,835, The Force Awakens is the highest-grossing Star Wars film in the reported worldwide table. The Last Jedi ranks second at $1,322,581,071, followed by The Rise of Skywalker at $1,069,951,814.

Rogue One and The Phantom Menace are close
Rogue One ranks fourth with $1,055,083,596, just ahead of The Phantom Menace at $1,046,513,456. Their separation in this table is $8,570,140.
The list includes animation and the 2026 release
The ranking covers 13 released entries, including the animated theatrical film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian and Grogu, listed with a 2026 release year and $340,471,147 worldwide gross.
How to interpret these box-office returns
- Worldwide, not domestic: The order uses the worldwide-gross column throughout. The Numbers also lists domestic totals, but those are not used here.
- Nominal dollars, not adjusted for inflation: A dollar in an older release year is not treated as equivalent to a dollar today. This table does not estimate what each film would earn at current ticket prices.
- Gross, not tickets sold: The figures do not reveal how many admissions each film sold, so they cannot establish which movie reached the largest audience.
- Cumulative totals, not necessarily original-release grosses: Later theatrical releases may be included. The table does not provide a consistent original-release-only comparison here.
- Gross, not profit: Box-office receipts alone do not account for distribution costs, marketing, participation or other expenses. The ranking cannot establish a film’s profitability.
Why no future Star Wars film appears
Only released films with box-office results belong in this ranking. Lucasfilm lists Star Wars: Starfighter as a future theatrical film scheduled for May 28, 2027; a scheduled release is not a box-office result. StarWars.com’s film catalog identifies the planned date.
