Star Trek: Voyager — Across the Unknown is a single-player survival strategy game in which you command the USS Voyager through an altered journey across the Delta Quadrant. Rather than directly controlling a character through action levels, you rebuild the ship, manage its crew and resources, explore, lead away teams, and issue orders in ship combat. It launched February 18, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
What kind of game is Across the Unknown?
The game centers on running Voyager and making decisions that shape its journey. The ship begins heavily damaged, so the campaign involves restoring facilities and balancing ship systems, crew needs, research, and exploration. Give orders in ship combat
Combat is described as command-oriented: you direct offensive and defensive maneuvers, select enemy systems to target, use special weapons, and assign crew to battle stations where their skills can help. The store descriptions do not frame it as direct character-action combat.
What is Q Trials?
Steam describes Q Trials as a separate, quicker roguelite mode built around runs and meta-progression. You choose a captain and crew from a pool, select modifiers, and can add challenges; situations vary between runs. Unlike the main journey, Q Trials is described as having no story or away missions. Which platforms can you play it on?
Jumpgate’s launch announcement identifies PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with a launch date of February 18, 2026. The launch announcement names gameXcite as developer and Daedalic Entertainment as publisher.
- Nintendo Switch 2: The US listing is for a digital edition and lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes. It displayed a 10.8 GB file size when checked in 2026; that figure can change with updates. The US listing gives an ESRB rating of Alcohol Reference, Fantasy Violence, and Language, identifies the game as single-player, and lists Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, American English, and Polish. Check the Nintendo listing for current regional details.
- Xbox Series X|S: The Xbox listing identifies single-player play, Xbox cloud saves, achievements, Xbox Play Anywhere, 4K Ultra HD, and Series X|S optimization. It lists Standard and Deluxe editions; check the Xbox store page for current regional edition contents.

What has been announced for DLC and updates?
On May 18, 2026, Jumpgate announced plans for gameXcite and Daedalic to develop four additional DLC releases during 2026, with stories, characters, technologies, and ships, plus a new mode. The announcement also said free updates would begin with a Delta Flyer update. This is a dated plan, not confirmation that every item has since been released. Check the relevant store for current release status and included content. In the same announcement, Jumpgate CEO Harald Riegler called the game the most successful release from gameXcite and Jumpgate to that date; the release gave no sales figure, so it does not establish a quantified sales result. Is it a fit for Star Trek: Voyager fans?
Its clearest appeal is to players interested in the practical dilemmas behind Voyager’s journey: keeping a damaged ship functioning, weighing crew needs against scarce resources, and choosing how to respond to unfamiliar situations. The alternate-outcome premise gives the player room to imagine a different course for Janeway and the crew, while Q Trials offers a shorter run-based alternative to the story-led campaign.

If you are looking for a fast-paced action game or a scene-for-scene adaptation of the television series, the official descriptions point elsewhere: they emphasize ship management, strategic choices, away-team planning, exploration, and command-based combat. Store descriptions explain the design goals, but do not by themselves establish how well those systems work in practice.
