What happens in the episode?
Mariner, Tendi and T’Lyn investigate a Starfleet power signature on Dilmer III, a pre-warp world. To avoid disrupting its civilization, they go undercover in disguises. The planet is also subject to an extreme time differential linked to its core: one second aboard the Cerritos equals one week on the planet’s surface. During the mission, the trio finds Data’s head, which the purple U.S.S. Enterprise left behind.
When was “Fully Dilated” released, and how long is it?
Paramount+ lists “Fully Dilated” as season 5, episode 7, with a release date of November 28, 2024, and a runtime of 27 minutes. Its episode-listing synopsis calls it “a pre-warp society undercover Girls Trip!” The official StarTrek.com episode companion, published by Dayton Ward on November 29, 2024, gives the fuller science-fiction setup: the power signature, undercover mission, time differential and discovery of Data’s head.

Is Data the only legacy character discussed in Lower Decks season 5?
No, but the distinction matters: season-wide discussion is not the same as an appearance in this episode. In a separate StarTrek.com interview, showrunner Mike McMahan names Brent Spiner as Data and Alfre Woodard as Lily Sloane among legacy performers involved in season 5. That interview does not establish that Lily Sloane appears in “Fully Dilated.”
