When did Squid Game Season 3 come out?
Netflix announced the season on January 30, 2025, setting June 27, 2025, as its premiere date and describing it as the “third and final season.” The release date has passed; the season is no longer upcoming. Netflix’s announcement also said the story would continue from the end of Season 2.
Is Season 3 the last season of Squid Game?
Yes. Netflix identifies Season 3, Episode 6 as the planned series finale and says the series will not return for Season 4. “Final” refers to the end of the series, not just the end of this installment. Netflix’s Season 4 status explainer confirms that decision; its separate finale explainer calls Episode 6 the definitive series finale.
How many episodes are in Season 3, and where can you watch it?
Season 3 has six episodes. Netflix Tudum’s season guide lists all six as available to stream on Netflix. Catalog availability can vary by country, so check Netflix in your region for current access.

What is Season 3 about?
Spoiler-light setup: The season picks up after the Season 2 rebellion fails. Gi-hun is grieving the death of his friend Jung-bae and dealing with the consequences of the uprising. The surviving players face further games and difficult choices, while Gi-hun continues trying to end the contest. The Front Man oversees the games, and Jun-ho continues searching for the island. Netflix’s season guide and Media Center summary describe this setup.
Hwang Dong-hyuk, who created the series, wrote, directed and produced the final season. Netflix Tudum quotes him describing its focus: “The story focuses on Seong Gi-hun’s transformation and how he overcomes what comes his way.”

The Netflix figures cited in its January 2025 announcement concern Season 2: Netflix reported 68 million views upon that season’s debut and a No. 1 position in its Top 10 TV (Non-English) list across 92 countries. Those are not Season 3 viewing figures. The official pages cited here do not establish a comparable Season 3 view total, so Season 2 numbers should not be used to describe the final season’s audience.
