How many episodes are in Season 2?
Squid Game Season 2 has seven episodes, and all seven are streaming on Netflix. Netflix’s current Tudum guide confirms that the complete season is available rather than releasing episodes weekly. [c003]
What is Squid Game Season 2 about?
Spoiler-safe synopsis: Season 2 follows Player 456, Seong Gi-hun, three years after winning the original game. Rather than leaving for the United States, he returns with a plan to confront the people responsible for the deadly competition and try to end it.
He enters the game again alongside a new group of contestants, all competing for a prize of 45.6 billion won. That premise places Gi-hun back inside the competition while giving the new season a broader focus on the people and system behind it. [c003]

Why some viewers may have seen a different release time
The date is the same worldwide, but the local clock time depends on the viewer’s time zone. The United States was on standard time in late December, so the midnight-Pacific launch translated to 3:00 a.m. on the East Coast. The United Kingdom and Iceland were at 8:00 a.m. GMT, central Europe was at 9:00 a.m. CET, and South Korea and Japan reached 5:00 p.m. on December 26.
This is also why a release-date page should use an absolute instant—approximately 2024-12-26T08:00:00Z—rather than treating “December 26 at midnight” as a universal local time. A timer based only on a local date string can show the wrong result for readers in other regions or after daylight-saving rules change.
What to do if Season 2 is not appearing on Netflix
Because the complete season has already been released, a missing title is more likely to be a device, account, app, or regional-catalog problem than a release-schedule issue. Try these checks:
- Search for “Squid Game” from Netflix’s main search screen rather than relying only on the home-page row.
- Open the series page and select Season 2. Confirm that the profile is not restricted by maturity settings.
- Refresh Netflix. On a phone, tablet, or smart TV, close and reopen the app. On a browser, reload the page and sign in again if necessary.
- Check the device and connection. If other Netflix titles also fail to load, restart the device and troubleshoot the connection before treating the problem as a title-specific issue.
- Check the account’s location and travel status. Netflix catalogs can vary by country, and availability may not be identical across every region.
- Use Netflix’s current help or support tools if Season 2 is still absent after the release has been confirmed for the relevant territory.
Squid Game merchandise and tabletop products
For fans who want something beyond streaming, Netflix has identified an official Squid Game merchandise collection featuring categories such as clothing, toys, collectibles, costumes, and other fan products. Netflix’s Season 2 consumer-products announcement also identified Puma tracksuits and Netflix Shop merchandise among the related product activity. Availability, seller, price, geography, and licensing can change, so check the current product page before buying. [c004][c007]

- Brand: Squid Game
- Character: Gi-hun
- Manufacturer: Hot Toys
- Type: Action Figure Sixth Scale Figure
A physical Squid Game board game is another relevant option to investigate. The Asmodee USA catalog lists a Mixlore Squid Game tabletop game, establishing a specific franchise-related product path. That catalog evidence does not by itself confirm that every marketplace listing is official, in stock, or sold by an authorized seller, so verify the listing and seller before purchasing. [c006]
Likewise, a search for a Squid Game tracksuit may surface both licensed collaborations and unrelated third-party clothing. The Puma collaboration was specifically referenced by Netflix, but individual listings should not be described as official unless their licensing and seller information have been checked. [c004]
Release-date verification
Netflix’s December 4, 2024 consumer-products announcement gave December 26 as the Season 2 debut date. Netflix’s official trailer announcement also said that the season would debut globally on December 26, exclusively on Netflix. Netflix Tudum repeated the same premiere date and now confirms that all seven episodes are available. These official Netflix sources agree on the date, worldwide distribution, and current availability. [c001][c003][c004][c005]
