How did the concert close, and what was its benefit?
Smith joined guests for the closing performance of “People Have the Power.” MusicRadar reported that she ended the event with the words “use your fucking voice”; the phrase is reported coverage of her closing remark, rather than a transcript verified against an event recording. MusicRadar’s closing report describes the finale and remark.
The concert was also presented as a benefit for youth music and writing education. Louder reported that 100% of net proceeds would be donated to support those programs. That figure describes the event’s reported pledge; it does not establish an independently audited donation total. Louder’s report gives the pledge.

Why the tribute brought music and poetry together
Smith’s work has long moved between rock performance and poetry, and the Carnegie Hall program reflected both sides by pairing guest interpretations of songs with readings of her writing. The anniversary of Horses provided the occasion, while the wider lineup made clear that the tribute was not limited to a single generation or musical style.
