- Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
- Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
- Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)
Marvel’s official marketing positions the new film as a continuation of Peter’s story after Spider-Man: No Way Home. That description establishes the broad continuity, but it does not by itself confirm every rumored plot detail or character relationship circulating online.
Destin Daniel Cretton directs
Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Cretton previously directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as films including Short Term 12 and Just Mercy.
His appointment gives the film a different director from Holland’s first three solo Spider-Man movies, which were directed by Jon Watts. Marvel’s official trailer announcement identifies Cretton as the director; that is the reliable basis for discussing his role, rather than unconfirmed reports about the film’s production history.
Who is in the cast?
Sony’s official cast listing includes:
- Tom Holland
- Zendaya
- Sadie Sink
- Jacob Batalon
- Jon Bernthal
- Tramell Tillman
- Michael Mando
- Mark Ruffalo
The presence of a performer on an official cast list confirms their involvement in the film, but it does not necessarily reveal the character they play, the size of the role, or how the character fits into the story. In particular, reported identities and plot functions for several cast members should not be treated as official unless Marvel or Sony confirms them directly.
What the movie’s story is known to be about
The confirmed story context is deliberately narrower than many online speculation pieces suggest. Marvel’s official trailer material presents Brand New Day as the next chapter of Peter Parker’s story following No Way Home.
Beyond that broad continuation, readers should be cautious with supposed plot leaks, character reveals, and claims about the ending. A cast announcement or promotional appearance does not establish a character’s exact role, and unverified reports should not be presented as part of the official synopsis.

Why the original “in the works” headline is now outdated
The project was once accurately described as an untitled fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man film in development. That wording is no longer current. By the authoritative research date of August 12, 2026:
- Marvel and Sony had announced the official title, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
- Marvel had identified Destin Daniel Cretton as director.
- Official listings gave the U.S. theatrical release date as July 31, 2026.
- The film had already opened in U.S. theaters.
Accordingly, the accurate present-tense description is that Brand New Day is a released theatrical film—not simply a new movie “in the works.” The original development-story framing remains useful as historical context, but it should not be used as the current headline.
Marvel and Sony’s relationship to the film
Spider-Man: Brand New Day belongs to the established Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures Spider-Man production and distribution arrangement. Marvel publishes the official MCU-facing movie and trailer materials, while Sony maintains the official film page and cast listing.
This distinction matters when checking claims. A social-media post, fan account, retailer listing, or entertainment rumor may provide a lead, but the most dependable confirmation for the title, release date, director, and cast comes from Marvel or Sony’s official materials.
Is another Tom Holland Spider-Man movie confirmed?
No fifth Tom Holland Spider-Man feature has been officially confirmed in the research available for this article. There is no verified announcement establishing a fifth film’s title, director, screenplay, cast, production start, or release date.
Holland has discussed the possibility of continuing as Spider-Man, and public comments about future stories may encourage speculation. However, a performer’s willingness to return—or discussion of possible future plans—is not the same as a formal Marvel or Sony sequel announcement. The careful answer is that another film remains unresolved, not that it can never happen.

Where to find Spider-Man merchandise
Marvel has promoted official Spider-Man merchandise and product reveals connected with Brand New Day, while Amazon’s advertising materials have also described Spider-Man product activity tied to the film. Fans looking for a physical tie-in can check current retailer listings for licensed products such as a Spider-Man action figure, apparel, toys, and other collectibles.
Availability, pricing, packaging, and character selection can change by retailer and country. Check that a listing identifies the manufacturer and licensing information before buying, particularly when a product is marketed as a film tie-in.
Is Brand New Day available to stream?
The official sources reviewed for this article establish the film’s U.S. theatrical release, but they do not establish a streaming service or streaming date. Readers should therefore not assume that the movie is currently included with a particular subscription service.
Digital rental, digital purchase, and subscription availability can vary by territory and can be announced separately from the theatrical launch. The safest way to check is to consult Marvel, Sony, or a reputable local digital retailer when an official home-entertainment listing becomes available.

A physical-media edition may eventually appeal to collectors, but a specific Brand New Day 4K UHD, Blu-ray, SteelBook, or release date was not verified through an official Sony home-media announcement in the available research.
Some retailer or community listings may appear before all details are formally confirmed. Until Sony or a verified retailer confirms the format, edition, and date, those listings should be treated as provisional rather than as an official release schedule.
