The teaser at the center of this story was reported on August 20, 2025: Towelie arrives in Washington, D.C., amid soldiers and tanks in a preview for a South Park episode. It is a look back at the show’s 2025 material, not a trailer for the current 2026 season.
What the 2025 teaser showed
Rolling Stone Australia reported that the teaser opens with Towelie arriving in Washington, D.C., by bus. He encounters soldiers and military tanks, then approaches the White House lawn as dark clouds gather overhead. Towelie says, “This seems like the perfect place for a towel!” The report identifies Vernohn Chatman as Towelie’s voice performer. Rolling Stone Australia’s August 20, 2025 report describes the short preview; it does not establish every plot point in the episode.
What the released episode addressed
The Associated Press reported on the full half-hour episode separately from the teaser. Its account said the story addressed the federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police department, with Towelie traveling past city landmarks, armed troops on the streets, and a tank in front of the White House. AP also described the episode as primarily satirizing artificial intelligence, while mocking world leaders and technology CEOs for kowtowing to President Donald Trump.
The AP’s episode report is the source for that broader context, not the teaser footage itself.
Why the episode has two reported titles
Rolling Stone’s 2025 teaser coverage called the episode “Sickofancy” and identified it as Season 27, Episode 3. Paramount+’s current listing uses “Mr. Towelie Goes to Washington” and describes Towelie going to Washington, D.C. These are the titles used by two different sources; the available information does not establish why they differ. Check the current Paramount+ South Park listing for its title and local availability.
