This story refers to Season 27, not the later-announced Season 29. Episode 2, “Got A Nut,” aired in the U.S. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, then became available on Paramount+ after the cable premiere. As of August 18, 2026, it is a past release, not an upcoming episode.
Why there was a break after the premiere
Season 27 opened with “Sermon on the ‘Mount” on July 23, 2025. Comedy Central scheduled “Got A Nut” two weeks later instead of using a one-week turnaround. The network’s announcement confirmed the August 6 date but did not give a production explanation or say that the gap was imposed because of political pressure, censorship or the premiere’s controversy.
That distinction matters. The premiere attracted substantial political attention, but a connection between that reaction and the scheduling break has not been established in the official release information.
What made the premiere controversial?
The opening episode used political satire involving Donald Trump, Satan, immigration enforcement and developments connected to Comedy Central and Paramount. The depiction of Trump prompted anger from the White House, according to the Associated Press. That report also covered a brief response from co-creator Trey Parker at San Diego Comic-Con.

South Park Studios’ own announcement described the episode more generally: South Park residents face possible destruction, while Jesus returns with an important message. Neither the official scheduling notice nor the AP report establishes that the controversy caused Episode 2’s break.

Streaming and on-demand access
The episode was scheduled to appear on Paramount+ after its Comedy Central premiere. The same official notice also said participating TV providers would offer it on demand. Release timing and present-day access can vary by country, subscription, device and rights window, so the original announcement does not support a single universal streaming time or a guarantee that it is currently available everywhere.
What happens in “Got A Nut”
The official synopsis says Mr. Mackey loses his job and searches for a new livelihood, while Kyle and Wendy deal with someone spreading hate at school. The source specifically notes that the unexpected source is not Cartman. Read the official episode listing for the brief, spoiler-light description.

Season 27 did not return to a strictly weekly pattern
The later schedule shows that the August 6 broadcast was part of an uneven release pattern, not the start of uninterrupted weekly episodes.

|---|---|---|
| 3 | “Sickofancy” | August 20, 2025 |
| 4 | “Wok is Dead” | September 3, 2025 |
| 5 | “Conflict of Interest” | September 24, 2025 |

Because the Episode 2 premiere has passed, viewers should check the current South Park Studios listing and Paramount+ in their territory for present availability. U.S. viewers who already receive Comedy Central through a cable, satellite or live-TV package can also check their provider’s on-demand library. Existing provider access may be more practical for one episode; Paramount+ is the official streaming destination identified for new episodes after their Comedy Central broadcasts.

Do not confuse this with Season 29
The newer announced schedule is for Season 29, which Comedy Central and Paramount+ set to premiere on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Additional announced dates are September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11 and November 25, 2026. See the official Season 29 announcement for that current schedule.
