Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on March 19, 2027, according to Paramount’s movie listing. SEGA announced the same date in January 2025. The date is for the U.S. theatrical release; the sources cited here do not establish an international rollout schedule.
When does Sonic the Hedgehog 4 come out?
Paramount lists Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for March 19, 2027. SEGA’s January 22, 2025 announcement also said the fourth film was set to release in theaters on that date from Paramount Pictures. These sources establish a scheduled U.S. theatrical date, not a confirmed date for every country. Release schedules can change, so check Paramount’s listing for the latest date as the opening approaches.

What is confirmed about Sonic the Hedgehog 4 merchandise?
SEGA announced on March 10, 2026, a multi-year global merchandise partnership with JAKKS Pacific and its costume division, Disguise. The planned product categories are:
- Action figures
- Plush
- Playsets
- Role-play products
- Costumes and costume accessories
SEGA says the products are planned for early 2027, ahead of the film’s release. The announcement establishes categories and intended timing, but does not identify specific models, prices, retail listings, or current stock. “Sonic the Hedgehog action figure” is therefore a relevant category to watch, not a confirmed name or available listing for a Sonic 4 product.

What has not been confirmed here?
The release and merchandise announcements do not establish a plot synopsis, a complete current cast list, a trailer schedule, or the film’s international release dates. They also do not confirm individual Sonic 4 merchandise products for sale. Treat those details as unconfirmed unless and until Paramount, SEGA, or an authorized product listing announces them.
Franchise box-office context
In its January 2025 announcement, SEGA reported that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had earned $425 million worldwide, compared with $405 million for the previous film, and that the three-film franchise had passed $1 billion worldwide. These are SEGA-reported figures. They provide context for the franchise’s reach, but do not predict how the fourth film will perform.
