It did not, by itself, confirm who would play him: Paramount made that explicit later, in a November 26 featurette naming Keanu Reeves as Shadow.
What does the Sonic 3 logo reveal show?
Paramount Pictures’ official YouTube listing identifies the video as “Sonic the Hedgehog 3 | Title Treatment Reveal (2024 Movie)” and dates it February 2, 2024. It is a title-treatment reveal, not a full plot trailer. The listing establishes the film’s title and the reveal’s release date; it does not establish plot details or announce Shadow’s performer.
The video arrived amid a broader Shadow-focused franchise campaign. SEGA’s 2024 investor presentation placed the film alongside Sonic x Shadow Generations, a separate console and PC game, under its “FEARLESS: Year of Shadow” theme. The game is related franchise promotion, not an adaptation of the movie.
Who plays Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3?
Paramount confirmed the casting in its November 26, 2024, featurette “Casting a Shadow,” whose description says: “An icon playing an icon. Keanu Reeves is Shadow.” The featurette—not the February title reveal—is the clear source for Reeves’s role.
