Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been officially announced, and no release date has been reported. The “cryptic update” that reignited speculation was animation producer Atsushi Kaneko’s November 2, 2025 post: “I know what the world is waiting for, but I want it to wait a little longer.” A separate theatrical movie, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, was announced in July 2026—but it is a film, not a confirmed third season.
What was the cryptic Solo Leveling update?
On November 2, 2025, animation producer Atsushi Kaneko posted: “I know what the world is waiting for, but I want it to wait a little longer🙏🙏🙏” The remark prompted fans to hope that news about Season 3 was coming. But the report covering the post explicitly said the season had not been announced; the post did not identify what Kaneko meant. GamesRadar+, November 4, 2025.
Is Solo Leveling Season 3 confirmed?
No. In June 2026, Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini told Radio Times, “Nothing to announce, but we are just as eager as the fans for the next show!” He also said, “We know the creators are actively working on it, so hopefully we can announce something soon.” That is an update about work on a next show, not a formal Season 3 announcement. The report gave no Season 3 release date. GamesRadar+, June 2026.
What did Kaneko’s 2026 message say?
In a New Year post reproduced by GamesRadar on January 2, 2026, Kaneko wrote that “something truly exciting might happen for ‘SL fans’” and asked them to “wait just a little longer.” The message was another tease, but it did not name Season 3 or announce a season order. Its connection to a specific project was left unclear. GamesRadar+, January 2, 2026.

How does the announced movie fit in?
On July 3, 2026, Crunchyroll and Aniplex announced Solo Leveling: Beyond the System as a theatrical movie continuing Sung Jinwoo’s story from where Season 2 ended. That confirms a movie project, but the announcement does not establish that it is Season 3 or that it was the project Kaneko had been teasing. Crunchyroll News, July 3, 2026.
| Update | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Kaneko’s November 2025 post | A producer teased something fans were waiting for. | A Season 3 announcement or release date. |
| Kaneko’s January 2026 post | He suggested something exciting might happen for Solo Leveling fans. | Which project he meant or a confirmed season order. |
| Purini’s June 2026 comments | Crunchyroll had nothing to announce; he said the creators were actively working on the next show. | A Season 3 confirmation or release date. |
| Beyond the System, announced July 2026 | A theatrical movie continuing the story from Season 2. | That the movie is Season 3 or the subject of Kaneko’s earlier posts. |
When does Solo Leveling Season 3 come out?
No Season 3 release date is established in the cited reporting. The movie announcement is the only dated project update here, and it concerns a theatrical film rather than a confirmed third season. Treat dates or claims about a Season 3 premiere as unverified unless an official announcement supplies them.
