Snoop Dogg was a special correspondent for NBCUniversal’s U.S. coverage of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. He filed reports with NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico, attended competitions, visited athletes and their families, and explored Paris. His reports were part of NBC’s primetime program Primetime in Paris; he also appeared in the closing-ceremony coverage’s LA28 handover segment.
What Snoop Dogg did at the Paris Olympics
NBCUniversal announced Snoop Dogg’s assignment on December 31, 2023, describing him as a special correspondent who would be on site in Paris. The plan called for regular reports for NBC’s Olympic primetime show, conversations with Tirico, visits with athletes, friends and families, attendance at events, and trips around the city. NBCUniversal’s announcement also connected the role to Snoop’s commentary on highlights from the Tokyo Olympics.
The assignment was broader than conventional play-by-play: it placed Snoop in the role of a personality-led correspondent, moving among competition venues, athlete stories and Paris itself. NBC’s description does not establish that he served as a technical analyst or called events from a broadcast booth, so those roles should not be conflated with his announced correspondent work.
Where his reports appeared
NBC’s June 26, 2024 description of Primetime in Paris said Snoop would join Tirico on most nights with a report after a day spent attending competitions, visiting athletes and families, and exploring the city. The program aimed to explain the stories behind that day’s results as well as show the action. Primetime producer Rob Hyland said the show would explain “how and why it happened” and add context beyond the competition. NBC Sports’ program announcement set out that editorial approach.

The Games ran July 26 through August 11, 2024. NBCUniversal’s announced plan called for 17 consecutive nights of NBC primetime programming. The company also said Paris was six hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone, which helped explain why the U.S. schedule included daytime live events alongside primetime coverage. These are NBCUniversal’s published 2024 planning figures, not audience measurements.
How U.S. viewers could watch in 2024
NBC and Peacock were the primary U.S. platforms identified for the Games. NBCUniversal’s 2024 viewing guide said Peacock would offer every sport and event, all 329 medal events, full-event replays, curated clips and original programming. The company separately announced 7,000 hours of coverage overall, including more than 5,000 streaming hours. Those figures describe the planned scope of NBCUniversal’s Paris 2024 coverage, not the amount of Snoop Dogg material or a measure of how many people watched it. These platform details are historical. They do not establish whether Paris 2024 replays or Snoop’s reports remain available in Peacock’s current catalog, or whether access is offered in other regions.
His part in the closing ceremony
NBC Sports’ August 11, 2024 announcement said Snoop had contributed to NBCUniversal’s coverage throughout the Games and would participate in the LA28 handover segment during closing-ceremony coverage. The appearance linked Paris’s finale to the next Summer Olympics, scheduled for Los Angeles in 2028. NBC Sports’ closing-ceremony announcement described his role in the segment.

What is known about the audience for his reports
The cited NBCUniversal material does not give a measured audience figure for Snoop’s Paris reports. The December 2023 announcement cited an NBC Olympics executive describing his Tokyo 2020 dressage highlights commentary as having generated “tens of millions of views,” but that statement is about Tokyo, provides no exact count and is not a Paris 2024 audience result.
