A Yahoo Entertainment search result also reports that he performed “Drop It Like It’s Hot” at the party, but the accessible Getty Images footage record does not identify the song. The song is independently confirmed for a separate Snoop appearance at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony on August 11.
What happened at the Team USA basketball party?
The event, titled “A Celebration of Olympic Basketball,” was presented by NBC Universal and the NBA on August 5, 2024, at Team USA House in the Palais Brongniart in Paris. Getty Images’ footage listing says Snoop Dogg welcomed the USA women’s basketball team onstage. The record identifies footage made for NBC Universal on August 5 and uploaded the next day; it also flags the footage as containing profanity.
A Yahoo Entertainment search-result description calls the gathering the USA Basketball 50th anniversary party and says Snoop performed “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” Because the underlying Yahoo page was inaccessible and Getty’s listing does not provide a setlist, those details should be treated as reported rather than independently established by the accessible event footage. How the August 5 party differs from the closing ceremony
Snoop’s appearance at the basketball celebration was not the same event as his performance in the Paris 2024 closing ceremony six days later. LA28 announced on August 10 that he would take part in the August 11 handover segment, which introduced Los Angeles and its culture ahead of the 2028 Games.
