Saturday Night Live’s “Christmas Robe” sketch turns one lopsided gift exchange into a familiar holiday comedy: everyone else opens presents while Kristen Wiig’s mom character gets a robe—and keeps the morning running. Peacock lists it as Season 46, Episode 9, and identifies it as a holiday sketch available to stream on the service.
What is the SNL Christmas morning sketch called?
Peacock’s holiday guide calls the sketch “Christmas Robe” and lists it as Saturday Night Live Season 46, Episode 9. Its scene centers on a family opening presents: the children and father receive numerous gifts, while the mother, played by Kristen Wiig, acts excited about a robe that was on sale. Peacock’s guide to SNL holiday and Christmas sketches includes the sketch and says SNL episodes stream on Peacock.
A secondary transcript labels the other family roles as Kyle Mooney’s brother, Chloe Fineman’s sister, and Beck Bennett’s dad. The “Christmas Morning” transcript is useful for the dialogue and character assignments, though it is not an official episode listing.
Why does the sketch feel relatable to moms?
The gifts make the imbalance visible
The joke escalates through contrasts: the children and father unwrap gifts, the mother gets the robe again, and her stocking is empty. Even the dog receives presents. The point is not that every family has this experience; it is the comic recognition of a mother’s effort seeming to go unnoticed while other people enjoy the celebration.

She is still doing the holiday work
While the family opens gifts, Mom prepares breakfast and worries about how she will look in the family photo. The sketch makes her responsibilities part of the punchline: she is expected to help create the festive morning even as her own present feels like an afterthought.
The final line states the joke plainly
The sketch ends by addressing viewers: “Your mom does everything for your family. This year, get her more than one present. Moms like stuff, too”. It is a line delivered by the sketch’s narrator, not a separate claim about all mothers or families.
