“Alumni lineup” is more precise than calling every name a former cast member at the time of the special: Kenan Thompson was still part of the active cast then. Peacock’s lineup announcement is the source for the names above.

An Associated Press report updated February 10, 2025, names Steve Martin, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, John Mulaney and Dave Chappelle among the announced guest appearances. AP also reported that NBC had announced additional alumni on February 10: Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Seth Meyers, Will Ferrell, Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler. Those six are already included in Peacock’s alumni lineup above; the AP report is useful confirmation of the later announcement, not evidence of a separate cast category.

Is the anniversary special the same as the SNL50 docuseries?
No. SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night was a separate four-part docuseries executive-produced by Morgan Neville. NBCUniversal said it featured more than 60 contributors, including former cast members and writers; that contributor count belongs to the docuseries and is not a count of guests at the primetime anniversary special. NBCUniversal’s anniversary programming announcement discusses both projects.
