It is not verified as a current, nationwide offer. Sky’s current UK proposition is a paid Ultimate TV package advertised from £24 a month for eligible new customers, with the exact price and terms depending on your address, customer status and contract. Treat the free-month headline as historical unless Sky’s checkout page explicitly shows the promotion and its terms.
The controlling evidence is the live Sky order summary, not an old article. Before paying, check the promotional dates, minimum term, post-promotion price, equipment obligations and the Netflix tier included.
What the original one-month-free promotion was
Tech Times reported the offer on April 29, 2024, describing a Sky Stream “Ultimate Streaming Bundle” in which Netflix and discovery+ were included during a free first month: read the original report.
The report described Sky Stream as a Wi-Fi-delivered service that did not require a satellite dish. It said new customers could use the first month and then either return the puck, move to a rolling subscription or accept an 18-month contract. The figures quoted were £19 a month on an 18-month contract, £26 after the reported promotion and £31 for a rolling option. Those are 2024 figures, not current prices.

The report does not establish that the campaign remained open after its original period, nor does it supply a surviving official 2024 terms page. The historical wording also differs from Sky’s current “Ultimate TV” branding, and the services and streaming tiers have changed.
What Sky Ultimate TV includes now
Sky’s current UK package combines Sky entertainment channels with selected streaming services. Sky’s package page lists:

- Netflix Standard with Ads
- HBO Max Basic with Ads
- Disney+ Standard with Ads
- Selected Hayu content

The £24 figure is a starting price, not a universal tariff. Sky can vary the offer by postcode, product, contract length and whether you are a new or existing customer.
Streaming tiers matter
“Included” does not mean every version of every service. Sky currently identifies the included Netflix tier as Standard with Ads. That is not the same as Netflix’s ad-free Standard or Premium plans. The included Disney+ and HBO Max tiers also contain ads, and Hayu is described as selected content rather than an unrestricted promise that every Hayu feature is included.
Netflix’s own Sky information explains the inclusion and account arrangements at Sky’s Netflix page. Paid upgrades may be available, but they increase the monthly cost.

Is Netflix really free?

A genuine free-month deal should show a zero or waived charge for a stated period in the order summary. It should also state when billing starts and what price applies afterward. If the page merely says Netflix is included, you are looking at a paid Sky bundle rather than a free trial of the whole service.
How to check whether your checkout has the free month
- Open Sky’s official UK TV page: sky.com/tv.
- Enter your postcode when requested and choose the relevant route for Sky Stream, Sky Glass or an existing account.
- Select Ultimate TV and inspect the order summary, not just the headline banner.
- Look for explicit wording such as “first month free”, the free-period dates and the date paid billing begins.
- Open the offer terms and record the minimum term, standard monthly price, activation requirements, equipment charges, cancellation notice and return rules.
- Confirm which Netflix tier is included and whether an existing Netflix account will be transferred to Sky billing.
- Save the order confirmation and terms before submitting payment, then set a reminder several days before the promotional period ends.
If the free month is absent, do not assume the headline is still active. Check whether you are using an existing-customer upgrade route, whether the offer is new-customer-only, and whether a postcode or broadband limitation applies. Ask Sky support to confirm the promotional end date in writing. Do not cancel a separately billed Netflix account until Sky confirms that linking has completed successfully.
What happens after a free month?
A promotional month normally does not end your service automatically. Unless the written terms say otherwise, billing can begin when the period ends. Check these points before ordering:

- the exact final day of the free period;
- the first paid date and standard monthly price;
- whether a minimum term continues after the promotion;
- whether the Sky Stream puck must be returned, and the deadline or non-return charge;
- the notice required to cancel a rolling plan;
- separate terms for add-ons such as cinema, sports or ad skipping.
Sky says billing for streaming customers begins when the Sky Glass TV or Sky Stream puck is activated. Sky also says customers moving from Sky Q may need to return Q equipment, and recordings do not transfer to Sky Glass or Sky Stream. Confirm the current terms for your order rather than relying on the 2024 report’s cancellation warning.
Sky Stream, Sky Glass or Sky Q?

Sky currently advertises Ultimate TV from £24 a month for eligible new customers under the applicable offer terms. Separately, Sky promoted a Full Fibre Gigafast plus Ultimate TV bundle at £41 a month, reduced from £51, on July 9, 2026: Sky’s Gigafast promotion. That broadband bundle is postcode-dependent and should not be treated as the television-only price.

- Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos;
- Sky Cinema;
- Sky Sports;
- Ad Skipping;
- extra Sky Stream pucks or a Sky Glass television;
- broadband when it is not already included.
Sky states that Ad Skipping does not apply to Netflix. Price changes and separate notice periods can apply to add-ons, so include them in your calculation rather than comparing only the headline bundle price.
Who is likely to get good value?
It may fit if you:
- want Sky channels as well as several streaming services on one bill;
- already have reliable broadband for streaming;
- value Sky Max, Sky Atlantic-related entertainment, documentaries and comedy;
- accept ad-supported included tiers;
- are comfortable with a minimum-term contract.
It may be a poor fit if you:
- want only ad-free Netflix;
- do not watch Sky channels;
- already pay separately for the included services;
- want to avoid a contract or equipment return;
- have unreliable broadband;
- expect sports, cinema, UHD or ad skipping to be included automatically.
Compare the Sky price with what you would actually buy separately, including any ad-free, UHD or sports upgrades. A bundle is not cheaper if it replaces services you would never use.
The current verdict
The one-month-free headline describes a real reported promotion from April 2024, but it should not be presented as a live nationwide deal in 2026. Sky’s current product is a paid Ultimate TV bundle advertised from £24 a month for eligible new customers, with ad-supported streaming tiers and conditions that vary by order. Check the official checkout and written terms; only call the month “free” when that exact order confirms it.
