The change followed its move into the Enchanted Parks portfolio earlier that year. Online reactions have included differing views, but the available examples do not establish that Americans broadly are divided over the rebrand.
What is Six Flags St. Louis called now?
The park announced the name Mid America Adventure on August 27, 2026, along with an updated logo and identity. Its announcement described the rebrand as an acknowledgment of the park’s history and said the brand honors 55 years of operation. Read the park’s announcement.
The new name also recalls the park’s original identity, Six Flags Over Mid-America, according to The St. Louis American’s September 4, 2026 report. The newspaper described the change as the first time since the park opened in 1971 that it would operate without the Six Flags name.
Why did the park change its name?
The name change followed an ownership and operator transition. The park’s president, Danny Snider, said in the announcement, “Earlier this year we became part of the Enchanted Parks family of theme parks.” Enchanted Parks CEO James Harhi described the rebrand as “the next step in our ongoing investment in this park and community.”

The name did not change immediately when the sale was announced. Six Flags said the parks involved would continue normal operations through the 2026 season and that EPR Properties retained the right to use the Six Flags brand through 2026. Does the change really divide Americans?
That claim goes further than the evidence supports. A surfaced Reddit discussion showed anecdotal, mixed reactions, but online posts are not a representative measure of national opinion. The available sources do not establish how Americans overall feel about the name change, so it is more accurate to say that some people have reacted differently than to claim a nationwide divide.

Are Six Flags passes still valid at Mid America Adventure?
Six Flags said that eligible 2026 passes and active memberships purchased before the sale would remain valid for the 2026 operating season, including stated multi-park privileges. Those were transition-era terms, not a promise about later seasons. Check the park’s current pass terms before relying on an older pass or membership.

In its August 27, 2026 announcement, the park described itself as having 10 roller coasters and a 12-acre water park. It said the water park includes slides, a lazy river, a children’s area, and a 30,000-square-foot wave pool. These figures are the park’s own descriptions.

The same announcement introduced 2027 Hero and Legend passes. It said both tiers included theme-park and water-park entry, complimentary general parking, in-park discounts, and the option to purchase a 10-meal package. The park said those passes could be used for the remainder of the 2026 operating season, including Fright Fest, and that prices started at $75 each. That is the launch price announced on August 27, 2026, not a current quote; check the park for current prices, availability, and benefits.
