The proposal is the episode’s emotional centerpiece. In a recap for Us Weekly, David takes Christine to see Moab, Utah’s red rocks and clear skies before proposing. The proposal happened in April 2023, and Christine is surprised by it. The scene leads to her reflection on how she feels about David compared with her former husband, Kody.

What did Christine say about Kody and David?

What was Ysabel worried about?

Christine and Kody’s daughter Ysabel worries that her chance to have a close relationship with her father is “slowly going away.” She asks whether David will replace him. As reported by TODAY, Christine reassures her that nobody will replace her father and says David can fill whatever father-figure role Ysabel needs.

This storyline is distinct from Christine’s happiness about her engagement: Ysabel’s concern is about her relationship with her father, and Christine’s response is that David does not have to take his place.

Why is Meri moving to Utah?

A separate thread follows Meri’s plan to move to Utah sooner than expected. She asks Kody to help drive a moving truck and jokes, “Call it my severance package.” Kody describes mixed emotions about her departure: “There’s so many mixed emotions. It’ll be good for Meri to move. It’s a beginning. [But] I got a bit of a nostalgic heart and it’s a little broken.”
