Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens’ wedding photos document two connected celebrations rather than a single ceremony. The couple completed the legal part of their marriage at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston on April 22, 2023, then held their larger destination wedding at Nobu Los Cabos in Cabo, Mexico, on May 6.
The courthouse images are informal and personal, while the Cabo gallery—photographed by Stanlo Photography—follows the event from the ceremony and family portraits through dinner, dancing, cake-cutting and the after-party.
The Houston courthouse ceremony
Biles announced the courthouse wedding on April 22, 2023, with a social-media photo dump captioned, “I do 🤍 officially owens 🤍.” The images show the couple exchanging vows, kissing, standing with their officiant and celebrating with Owens’ arm raised.
Biles wore a white tiered dress with a plunging V-neckline and open back. She paired it with Amazon heels and wore her hair in a high ponytail. Owens chose a light-colored, tan suit. The photographs have the direct, un-staged quality of a small civil ceremony rather than the polished look of the later destination-wedding gallery.

The courthouse ceremony followed the couple’s acquisition of a Texas marriage license. A photograph posted around April 14–15 showed them holding the license with the caption, “Almost time to say ‘I do.’” The license was issued in Montgomery County, while the ceremony was later identified as taking place at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston.
The Cabo wedding in photographs
The larger celebration took place on May 6, 2023, at the Umi Terrace at Nobu Los Cabos. It had 144 guests and was documented in a 98-image Vogue slideshow. The published images were credited to Stanlo Photography, with additional credits given to Biles’ and Owens’ Instagram accounts, planner Amy Abbott Events and floral preservation company Pressed Floral.
The Cabo photographs provide a chronological record of the day. Biles walked down the aisle with her father, and the ceremony began at approximately 5 p.m. Owens is shown becoming emotional during the ceremony. Other notable images capture the couple jumping the broom, posing with family and taking formal portraits together at the venue.

Biles’ Galia Lahav wedding looks
Biles wore four Galia Lahav looks across the Mexico wedding weekend. The selection moved from a feathered rehearsal-dinner mini dress to her main ceremony gown, followed by a lace reception dress and a sparkly after-party outfit.

According to the designer’s head designer, the slit was added to create the appearance of greater length. The gown’s structured shape and lace details are especially prominent in the formal portraits and aisle photographs.
The change into a reception dress gives the later images a different visual character. The reception and after-party photographs focus less on the ceremony and more on movement, dancing and the couple’s interaction with their guests.

Reception details captured in the gallery
The wedding photos extend beyond portraits. They show the first dance, dinner, cake-cutting and dancing before the after-party. The main cake was red velvet from Nobu. Owens also requested a Dairy Queen ice-cream cake as his groom’s cake, a detail that contrasts with the formal presentation of the main celebration.
Among the most recognizable images are the couple’s formal portraits, their reception scenes, the cake-cutting photographs and pictures of the newlyweds together at the venue. Taken as a sequence, the images show how the event shifted from a traditional ceremony into a larger evening celebration.
