What is SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI THE BOARD GAME?
Designed by ICREA and based on ATLUS’s Shin Megami Tensei series, the game is a competitive area-control strategy game set in a ruined Tokyo in 199X. Players recruit demons through negotiation, strengthen their forces through demon fusion, and vie for control of areas and their rewards. How many players, figures and components does it include?
ICREA lists 2–4 players, a 180–240-minute play time and a minimum age of 14. Its product description specifies 72 demon figures and more than 350 cards and tokens. ATLUS likewise gives a 2–4-player count and a three-to-four-hour session. [ICREA; ATLUS]
The scale extends beyond the figure count: ATLUS lists a B2 main board and an approximate package size of 51.5 × 37 × 31.5 cm. It says figures are approximately 5–11 cm tall, while noting that some demons are represented through other game components. When did the Kickstarter run, and how much did it raise?
The campaign page records a November 12–December 13, 2024 campaign period. ICREA’s announcement describes the same window in Japan as November 13, 2024, at 00:00 through December 12 at 23:59 JST; the apparent one-day difference reflects the date and time-zone framing. The campaign closed with ¥98,963,619 pledged by 2,066 backers, against a ¥30,000,000 goal. [Kickstarter; ICREA]
ICREA listed a ¥60,000 pledge price, excluding shipping, during the 2024 campaign. That is a historical pledge amount, not a current offer. Has the game shipped?
A January 17, 2026 report by Game*Spark said the creator apologized for substantial delays and announced August 2026 as the start of shipping. That was the schedule reported at the time, not confirmation that shipping subsequently began. The available campaign and reporting information does not establish whether any backers have received copies or whether fulfillment is complete. [Game*Spark, January 17, 2026]
Anyone considering a secondhand copy should verify that a seller has the actual game and clarify the edition, language, included components, condition and full price including shipping. A successful Kickstarter campaign is not proof that a current listing is genuine or complete.
