There is no publicly verified net-worth figure for Shifty Shellshock, the stage name of Crazy Town singer Seth Binzer. Celebrity Net Worth lists an estimate of $100,000, while a 2026 report on probate filings describes two conflicting 2025 estate estimates: $140,000 and $90,500. None is established as a final accounting of his assets and debts.
What was Shifty Shellshock’s net worth when he died?
The most accurate answer is that his net worth is unknown. Celebrity Net Worth lists $100,000, but its page provides no transparent calculation or financial records supporting that estimate (Celebrity Net Worth, updated March 26, 2026).

A separate figure refers to his estate, not a verified net-worth calculation. TMZ reported on March 26, 2026, that court filings from 2025 contained competing estimates: former partner Tracy Shelor reportedly put the estate at $140,000 in a May 2025 filing, while son Halo Binzer claimed $90,500 in a July 2025 filing (TMZ). The report does not establish either estimate as the final probate value or a court-approved amount available for distribution.
Why do sources give different figures?
They describe different things and come from different sources. A celebrity website’s net-worth estimate is not the same as a claimant’s estimate of an estate in probate. Neither figure, on the available reporting, is a verified balance sheet.

| Figure | What it refers to | Source and status |
|---|---|---|
| $100,000 | Estimated net worth | Celebrity Net Worth lists this estimate; the page gives no transparent methodology or supporting financial records. |
| $140,000 | Estimated estate value | TMZ reported that Tracy Shelor claimed this in a May 2025 filing. It is an attributed estimate, not a final accounting. |
| $90,500 | Estimated estate value | TMZ reported that Halo Binzer claimed this in a July 2025 filing. It conflicts with Shelor’s estimate and is not a final accounting. |
| Verified net worth or final probate accounting | Confirmed total of assets and liabilities, or final estate accounting | Not established in the sources cited here. |
Net worth generally means assets minus liabilities at a given point in time. An estate estimate may be preliminary and can depend on what assets and debts a filing includes. Without a final inventory and accounting, the reported estimates cannot establish what Binzer owned after debts, or what beneficiaries ultimately received.
Does Crazy Town’s success explain his personal wealth?
It gives context for why people associate Binzer with substantial music income, but band success does not reveal an individual member’s earnings. The Los Angeles Times reported that Crazy Town’s debut album The Gift of the Game sold 2.5 million copies worldwide and that “Butterfly” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Los Angeles Times, June 25, 2024). Those are career milestones, not figures for Binzer’s royalties or personal assets.

The available sources do not establish his negotiated band or publishing shares, record-contract recoupment, personal expenses, liabilities, or accumulated royalties. Sales and chart positions alone cannot be converted into a reliable personal net-worth figure.

Binzer co-founded the Los Angeles rap-rock band Crazy Town with Bret “Epic” Mazur. The band’s success with “Butterfly” and The Gift of the Game was followed by a less successful second album, Darkhorse, according to The Guardian. Binzer also released solo music, including the 2004 album Happy Love Sick, and appeared on Celebrity Rehab and Sober House (The Guardian, June 25, 2024). He died in Los Angeles on June 24, 2024, at age 49.

The Los Angeles Times, citing the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, reported that Binzer’s death resulted from the effects of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine and was ruled accidental. That biographical fact does not establish the value of his estate.
