That later date supersedes the earlier expectation; the February reports were not the final schedule.

Why was Sherri canceled?
Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus attributed the decision to “the evolving daytime television landscape.” They said it did not reflect on the show’s strength, its production, or Shepherd’s talent, and described the season as having strong creative momentum.

Their statement gives the producers’ explanation. The available reporting does not establish a specific ratings, budget, or station-clearance cause, so those should not be treated as confirmed reasons.
Could Sherri continue on another platform?
Bernstein and Marcus said they intended to explore alternatives for the show on other platforms. That was an intention, not confirmation of a new home. No confirmed platform or deal is identified in the available announcements; the nationally syndicated run ended with the farewell entry.
