She-Ra and the Princesses of Power was reported to leave Netflix on February 21, 2026. That date has passed, and current availability has not been confirmed for every country. The timing came shortly before the scheduled release of the Masters of the Universe film, but there is no cited evidence that the film caused Netflix’s licensing decision.
When was She-Ra expected to leave Netflix?
What’s on Netflix listed February 21, 2026, as the estimated departure date in its updated 2025 guide. The guide described its dates as speculative and subject to contract changes. A separate article from the same publisher said the date applied globally. Because the reported date is now past, it should not be treated as proof that the series is unavailable everywhere today; streaming catalogs can vary by country and change over time. What’s on Netflix’s reporting on the removal
Netflix’s official description introduces Adora as an orphan who discovers a magic sword, transforms into She-Ra, and joins the Rebellion, uniting magical princesses. Netflix describes the reboot as a modern take on the 1980s character. Netflix’s series description
Why would a Netflix Original leave Netflix?
The label “Netflix Original” does not necessarily mean Netflix owns a series outright. What’s on Netflix reported that Netflix had exclusive distribution rights for a fixed period, while DreamWorks Animation and NBCUniversal retained the underlying rights. The explanation is reporting about the licensing arrangement, not a direct Netflix confirmation of the specific contract terms or removal rationale. The publisher also reported that Netflix did not publicly comment on individual removals beyond its title lists. What’s on Netflix’s explanation of the licensing context

Creator and showrunner ND Stevenson said the showrunners had no control over the licensing outcome. In comments quoted by What’s on Netflix, he said: “Unfortunately, we’ve known about this for a while, and it’s already happened to several other Dreamworks shows as their licenses with Netflix expire. Years of hard work by many talented crews have ended up without a home. We showrunners have no control over this.” Stevenson’s comments as reported by What’s on Netflix
Did the He-Man movie cause She-Ra’s Netflix departure?
Mattel announced a theatrical release date of June 5, 2026, for the live-action Masters of the Universe film. That date has passed. The proximity between the film’s scheduled release and She-Ra’s reported Netflix departure is a matter of chronology; the cited reporting does not establish that the film prompted Netflix to remove the series or that the two decisions were coordinated. Where can you watch or buy She-Ra now?
A current legal streaming home for all five seasons has not been established. Check the catalog in your country before subscribing or assuming that a search result reflects current availability.
Physical availability appears incomplete in the cited reporting. GamesRadar reported in February 2026 that DVDs covered three of the show’s five seasons. That is not evidence of a complete-series box set, and listings, stock, and authorized status can change. Check which seasons an individual listing includes before buying.
