Mark and Helly find the goats in a Lumon department called Mammalians Nurturable. The episode gives the animals a place—and introduces the people caring for them—but does not explain why Lumon has them or what the department is for.
Where do Mark and Helly find the goats?
While searching the severed floor for Ms. Casey, Mark and Helly discover Mammalians Nurturable, a Lumon department containing a large room of rolling, grass-covered hills where goats are being cared for. The reveal answers the immediate question of where the animals are: inside Lumon, in a dedicated department.

The department is led by a character played by Gwendoline Christie. The available recap does not give the character’s name. When Mark and Helly arrive, she asks whether they are there to kill her. It is an unsettling reaction, but the episode does not explain its cause.
What does the episode establish about the goat workers?
The workers know Ms. Casey and like her. After Mark tells them that he and Helly believe Lumon is lying about her, they help the pair continue their search. That connection makes the goat department relevant to the episode’s larger mystery around Ms. Casey, rather than just an isolated oddity.

But the workers’ connection to Ms. Casey does not clarify their full role. The episode does not say what their broader job is, why the goats are being raised, or what Mammalians Nurturable contributes to Lumon’s work. Those questions remain open. Irving identifies the hallway he has been drawing
Back at Optics and Design, Irving speaks with Felicia. She identifies the hallway he has repeatedly drawn as the Exports Hall and says the department no longer makes deliveries there. The hallway gets a name, but the information does not resolve why Irving is fixated on it.
Mark’s reintegration begins
Outtie Mark considers burning a message onto his retina to reach his innie. Regabhi tells him reintegration is the only way and says his wife is alive inside Lumon. She begins the procedure in Mark’s basement; the episode leaves its outcome unresolved.

Lumon’s management and the Eagans
Natalie gives Milchick revised portraits of Kier Eagan. He says they make him feel included, then hides them. Separately, Natalie pitches Ricken on adapting his book for innies, and Devon and outtie Mark discuss the proposal.
Harmony approaches Helly
Harmony asks outtie Helly to return to Lumon and resume work related to Cold Harbor. She leaves when she suspects a trap, adding another complication to the question of who is trying to use whom.

What remains unanswered about Lumon’s goats?
The episode reveals the department’s name, its goats, and a group of workers who care for them and know Ms. Casey. It does not establish the reason for the animals, the department’s operational purpose, or why its leader fears that Mark and Helly might kill her. Any claim that the goats serve a particular experiment or symbolic purpose would be speculation, not an answer provided by this episode.
