Severance Season 2 is a complete, 10-episode season streaming on Apple TV. It premiered on January 17, 2025, and its weekly run ended with the finale on March 21. The story follows Mark Scout and his Lumon colleagues as they face the consequences of crossing the boundary between their work selves and personal selves.
What do I need to know before Severance Season 2?
Lumon Industries employees who undergo the severance procedure have their memories divided between work and personal life. Their workplace selves, known as “innies,” experience the office without access to their outies’ personal memories; the outies do not ordinarily remember what happens at work. Season 2 picks up with the consequences of tampering with that barrier.
Apple TV Press describes the season this way: “In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.” Read Apple’s Season 2 announcement and synopsis.
When did Severance Season 2 come out?
Apple announced a global premiere on January 17, 2025, followed by one episode each Friday through March 21, 2025. Those are the scheduled global release dates in Apple’s announcement. Apple TV Press: Season 2 release details.

Where can I watch Severance Season 2?
The series is available on Apple TV. Availability and subscription terms can vary by country and may change; check the Apple TV listing in your region for current access and price. Who returns, and who joins the cast?
The returning ensemble includes Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Sarah Bock joins as a series regular.

What happened at the end of Season 1?
Spoilers for the Season 1 finale:
- The innies used the overtime contingency to get out of Lumon and briefly experience the outside world.
- Helly R.’s outie was revealed to be Helena Egan, an heir to the Egan fortune and a supporter of the severance program.
- Mark learned that his wife, Gemma, was alive and working on the severed floor as Ms. Casey.

Yes. Apple confirmed Season 3 on March 21, 2025, the morning after the Season 2 finale was released, according to the Associated Press. The announcement cited here does not establish a Season 3 premiere date. Associated Press report on the renewal.
