The evidence supports comparing five championship partners, but it does not establish five objectively worst partners—or even a definitive ranking of chemistry or match quality. The list below ranks the documented partnerships by title success and storyline significance, and treats “worst” as the least successful among these five by reign length, not as a judgment that the team was bad.
How this ranking is judged
WWE’s official title history identifies five partners who won tag-team championships with Rollins: Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Jason Jordan, Braun Strowman, and Murphy. This article ranks those five based on documented championship reign length and the partnership’s storyline significance where it is supported. WWE’s reign durations provide a concrete comparison; they do not measure match quality, chemistry, or entertainment value.
The title’s name changed over the years. WWE says it became the Raw Tag Team Championship after the 2016 brand extension draft and was renamed the WWE World Tag Team Championship on April 15, 2024. The reigns below are identified by partner and dates to keep the chronology clear. WWE’s official title history is the source for the reign records and naming changes.
The five strongest documented partners
1. Roman Reigns
Reigns is the clearest number one on the available championship evidence. WWE records that he and Rollins held the tag titles from May 19 to October 14, 2013, a 148-day reign. Their partnership also belongs to The Shield, the defining factional context for their early careers together; WWE’s Rollins profile identifies him as part of the group. The combination of the longest documented reign and that shared identity makes Reigns the most defensible pick for Rollins’ best partner, without claiming a proven ranking of match quality.

2. Dean Ambrose
Ambrose and Rollins won the title twice: their first reign ran from August 20 to November 6, 2017, for 78 days; the second ran from October 22 to November 5, 2018, for 14 days. They rank highly because their partnership carried the history of The Shield into later title runs. The two reigns should be kept distinct: the first was substantially longer, while the 2018 run was brief.
3. Murphy
Rollins and Murphy held the title from January 20 to March 2, 2020, a 41-day reign. That places their run between the Jordan and Ambrose 2018 reigns by duration. The official record establishes a title-winning partnership and its length, but does not by itself establish how it compares in chemistry or match quality.

4. Jason Jordan
Jordan and Rollins’ reign lasted 33 days, from December 25, 2017 to January 28, 2018. Its shorter duration places it below Murphy’s and above Strowman’s among these five title-winning partnerships. That is a narrow, record-based comparison—not proof that Jordan was an ineffective teammate.
5. Braun Strowman
Strowman and Rollins held the title from August 19 to September 15, 2019, a 26-day reign, the shortest among the five partnerships listed in WWE’s title history. That makes this the lowest-ranked partnership under a reign-length criterion. The duration alone cannot establish that the team was poor in the ring or unpopular with viewers.

Who was Seth Rollins’ worst tag team partner?
If “worst” means the shortest title reign among the five partners WWE lists as champions with Rollins, the answer is Braun Strowman, at 26 days. Jason Jordan is next shortest at 33 days. If “worst” means weakest chemistry, least entertaining matches, or poor audience response, the available official records do not provide enough evidence to name a reliable winner or loser on those grounds.

WWE’s profile describes Rollins as a six-time Raw Tag Team Champion, while its title history lists five distinct championship partners: Reigns, Ambrose, Jordan, Strowman, and Murphy. The six-title count reflects reigns, not six different partners; Ambrose accounts for two of the listed reigns. The championship’s later renaming does not change the historical count.

Why this is not a complete five-best/five-worst list
The requested “five best and five worst” framing implies ten distinct partners, but the official championship history used here supports five named title-winning partnerships. It does not provide a complete list of everyone who teamed with Rollins in non-title matches or as part of Shield trios. Naming five additional “worst” partners would therefore require evidence beyond these records. The defensible conclusion is a ranking of the five documented championship partnerships, with the lowest-ranked entry understood as the shortest-reigning—not a proven worst teammate.
