Apple’s official announcements do not confirm the exact date The Studio began filming. A crew feature documents production preparation in early 2024, but not the first day of principal photography. The comedy later premiered on Apple TV on March 26, 2025, and Apple renewed it for a second season in May 2025.
When did The Studio start filming?
The precise start date for filming has not been established by the official Apple announcements cited here. A Local 695 feature on production sound reports that sound mixer Buck Robinson was contacted about the show in early 2024 and interviewed with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and other producers in early February. That places crew hiring and preparation in motion; it does not confirm when principal photography began.
Apple’s public timeline picks up with the series schedule announcement on November 19, 2024. The first two episodes were scheduled to debut March 26, 2025, followed by weekly Wednesday releases through May 21, 2025. Apple announced the season-two renewal on May 6, 2025.
What is The Studio about?

He and his executive team try to make films that succeed while balancing artists’ ambitions, corporate demands, and their own insecurities.
